Excerpt: I previously owned 2, Canon 75-300mm lenses, A low quality lens and I have been dissatisfied with it. I need a long zoom from time to time, but not so much that I need to invest thousands in a big clunky zoom. I really wanted one with image stabilization, and then I found this Tamron lens.
Excerpt: This Tamron SP 70-300 XLD is fantastic! I see no vignetting and no chromatic aberration and quality is quite sharp. For the price, I don't believe you'll find a better lens.
Yes, it's heavy. Yes, it's large. But what do you expect? It's quality.
Excerpt: Based on my test shots, this lens is very sharp through the entire range. But the best capability of this lens is the vibration compensation. I can hand hold shots at full zoom and get very acceptable results whether on a full frame or cropped sensor camera.
Excerpt: I mainly bought this simply for the stabilization and it works awesome. It's so easy to get shots when zoomed in. I love it. Picture quality is pretty solid all around from what I've seen so far, too.
