  • Excerpt: I have used the Canon equivalent of this lens and loved it. I pulled the trigger and bought the Tamron. I have to say I have been very impressed. I use it in my business as a portrait/wedding photographer. The photo quality is impeccable. Images are very sharp and in focus.

A Very Solid Competitor to Canon L

JD S., Newegg
12 March 2015
  • Summary: I bought this lens to replace the 70-200mm f/4l Canon I had. I am kicking myself for NOT doing it sooner!! Honestly, I should have just saved and bought this first. It is a solid solid lens no joke. The color is amazing, it's razor sharp, killer in low light, and just does what it's supposed to.
  • Pros: Razor Sharp, Superb Color, Has VC, Affordable, and a 6yr Warranty too!
  • Cons: Not a single one.

Amazon Customer, Amazon

  • Summary: This lens is an absolute delight. Never used Tamron before, but I'm honestly astounded at the image quality and performance of this fast, sturdy lens. The VC allows hand-holding under tricky lighting situations and yields crisp, contrasty images.

Semi-Pro with 2 years experience with lens

Thomas S., Amazon
19 February 2015
  • Summary: I'm not going to get into the specs because quite frankly, many on here don't care nor understand it. That's what DPReview and DXOMark are there for. I shoot 6A High School sports - namely, football, basketball, baseball and LaCrosse and purchased this lens shortly after it came out at the advice of...

Collin Weigel, Amazon
16 February 2015
  • Summary: Quick, quiet, and a really convenient range. Image quality is very good through most of the range- but even at 200 it is not going to cut it as a birding lens. It does have quite a bit weight to it.
