Excerpt: I spent a lot of time thinking about getting this lens. I compared it to the Nikon 70-200 VR II f/2.8. The Nikon was more expensive. I read a number of reviews on the Tamron. The DXOMark site is a good one to visit for those that might be interested. I've always purchased Nikon lenses. Just before buying this lens, I bought the Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 from B & H. I found that lens to be incredible also. So with that being evident, I decided to purchase the Tamron. 70-200.
Pros: Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
Summary: Just got my Tamron SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD yesterday. Mother of God is it sharp. Sharper than I could have hoped for, fast and silent autofocus, and great bohkeh. It took just a few shots to make it my favorite lens. Needless to say, my Canon 24-105 f/4 L will be replaced with the Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 in the not to distant future.
Excerpt: i originally was going to purchase the brand name in this range lens..however after testing the results on this tamron it was amazing to find that the quality was equal in performance to the brand which would have been 1000 dollars more ...i am totally satisfied with this lens ..been using it ever since it was delivered ..b and h sent out the order promptly and packaged well..very happy.
Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Sharp images, Strong Construction
Excerpt: Very sharp lens. VRII is amazingly stable. Very nice Bokeh. Excellent low light images without flash. 70-200 f/2.8 is what the pro's use at my daughter's dance competition - now I have the lens they use! It has lots of glass so it is going to be heavy - it is not a "con", that is just the way the good lenses are - they are all heavy.
Summary: Tamron 70-200 met completely expectations that I had. This lens is very sharp, fast and easy to use. Made with an extraordinary quality. I also had use this lens with a TC 2x, it lose AF but gave me good images with enough quality.
Excerpt: Reading copious reviews and comparisons convinced me to buy this lens. My number one concern with any lens is image quality. I can tolerate most any other issue as long as the end result is a sharp clear image. Image quality is excellent with this lens from 70 out to 200mm. Good build quality, fast auto focus and pleasing Bokeh. Great lens at a great price.
Summary: Glad I got this instead of Nikon ! So far this lens is awesome and more than a match for the Nikon in every way ! Oh yea did I mention its a grand cheaper ? Built like a tank , the lens hood is a tad loose but thats the only negative so far . Images are amazing , get it !!
Excerpt: I have been using this lens for shooting actions shots at night HS football games with excellent results. I use a Nikon D7000 and the auto focus has been responsive to my needs. Although heftier than some of my other lens, I use it with a monopod attached to the lens' mount which balances nicely.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Strong Construction
