Summary: I've had it for a month now and constantly using it, so far I am liking it so much and can't find any negative things to say. I've tried to shoot different subjects with it, people, landscapes etc. and all the time I am pleased with the results! It's quiet, fast focusing, light weight and the VC really helps a lot in the dark, I used to shoot a shutter speed of 1/20s max handheld, anything below will be blurry but now with the VC, I can do 1/15's or maybe even lower, but...
Summary: Very fast and amazingly responsive. I had looked at this one, the sigma, and the nikon and this was the one i went with. The warranty on it is amazing. The only thing i thought was a little cheap was it could at least come with a little bag or something to keep it in, but that's just cause i feel for $1000 it just seems fair to give something nikon would give you for a $400 lens. Otherwise, definitely, in my opinion, a lens worth having in your arsenal.
Summary: Nikon's 24-70 & 70-200 VRII are know as the best of the best, but if you need lens that are Great compared to its dollar value Tamron beats Nikon easily. On the DXOMark website both Tamron 24-70 & 70-200 VC lens are rated above Nikons. Trust me buy this and save lots of $$$.
Summary: Simply the best basic lens for the Nikon DSLR, period. You cant go wrong with this excellent piece of glass. Low light, bright light, flash, motion...this lens does it all. Worth every penny, will be the best lens in your bag, especially on the D7100 or above..
Summary: I use this on a Nikon D800. Excellent photo quality. VC is very handy for video shooting handheld. My unit came with a problem: it caused over-exposure at any apertures wider than f/4. Sent it in to Tamron service for repair once I was sure this was the only problem (this is better than returning it and getting another one with a different or same problem and keep going through lenses). Was fixed in two days under warranty. So, Tamron service is also very good.
Summary: Took fantastic photos and the build quality is great. However, I couldn't justify the price difference between it and the Sigma 15-50 F2.8. Still, if you prefer the slightly longer focal length, you can't go wrong with this.
