Very good lens

Jeff, B&H Photo
6 January 2015
  • Excerpt: I have primarily used this lens for food and some landscape pictures. These pictures have all been handheld. The lens is somewhat heavy so I recommend a good tripod if using one, also with a cable release. I'd say it gathers light almost as well as my nikon 50mm 1.8. It is somewhat slow for zooming but the focus mechanism is adequate.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Heavy

Stop thinking and buy it.

Adorama
28 December 2014
  • Excerpt: I have been looking for a lens that I can put on the camera and go out for they day. I bought this only a week ago but I've used it already for a photoshoot. Amazing lens to use. The colors are vibrant, the photos are clear and crisp and razor sharp. I'm so glad that I purchased it. So far the only thing I noticed was in lower light it did search for focus one time. So in closing stop reading this review and buy it.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction

Exceptional Lens & Superior Value

KGW, B&H Photo
21 December 2014
  • Excerpt: This lens produces pictures comparable to those I get from my Nikon lenses at about half the price. The build quality is very near that of the Nikon and Canon products that are the standard for rugged durability. The vibration compensation is a tremendous advantage that works flawlessly!
  • Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus, Strong Construction, TACK SHARP
  • Cons: NONE

The results were very good specially on the D610

Manuel Montalvo, Amazon
11 December 2014
  • Summary: I tested it on a Nikon D7100 and D610. The results were very good specially on the D610. With the the full frame sensor is where I noticed extreme sharpness even at F2.8. Before having this lens I will say my sharpest one was the Nikon 50 1.8G. I took photos of still objects that I usually use for testing and did noticed more detail that I didn't achieved before. The VC is a great feature that will justify to buy Tamron instead of Nikon besides a better price.

Sharp!

LKP, Amazon
27 November 2014
  • Summary: REALLY sharp lens! I was very pleased with the results from this lens! I've done a lot of work with it lately and fellow photographers assumed I was using a really expensive prime lens for most of it because it was so sharp! The bokeh is not super creamy, so if that's what you're really wanting, I'd look elsewhere, but I'm not super obsessed with bokeh so it suits me just fine!

The Tamron 24-70 VC delivers what my Nikon 24-70 could not...

Ken Barlow, Amazon
20 November 2014
  • Summary: Very happy with the Tamron 24-70 Di VC lens so far. Much better perfomance than my Nikon 24-70 had. Let me give a little background on my experience with the Nikon lens: Used it on a D90 and D700 initially, with pretty decent results on the D700, but not so good on the D90. After upgrading the D90 to D7000, the lens still did not produce very good images on DX, but still worked fairly good on the D700.

Great lens with all the best features!

Steve the Poppy, B&H Photo
17 November 2014
  • Excerpt: I mostly take photos of my two grandchildren, and this lens on a Nikon D750 is perfect. I originally purchased the Sigma 24-105 mm f4 from B&H; however, I decided that I would really like the faster f2.8 of the Tamron. I really liked the Sigma, but I used B&H excellent return policy to return it and get the faster lens. With the Tamron and VC, I can take sharp pictures hand held at 1/3 of a second or so at f2.8 - incredible!
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Rugged, Strong Construction
