Excerpt: I was a little hesitant to purchase a third party lens for my Nikon D810, since in the past I had not heard good things about them. So, I decided to at least give this a try, since it got high ratings on the D810, slightly better actually, than the Nikon 24-70 (older non-VR version) from DxO Labs...
Excerpt: This is not a perfect product, but it is an extremely good, solid, professional caliber lens at a vastly better price point than the Nikon counterpart. It feels the part of a professional lens on my D810 and in my hand. Zoom ring is smooth and easily manipulated.
Excerpt: I like this lens very much so far; I am especially very happy with the sharpness and performance in low light. A bit slow to focus or a bit on the heavy side, but not bad. I will try to update after I get a chance to use it more.
Excerpt: Received the Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8, took it out for a test shoot last week and am completely satisfied with the results. Operated smoothly, reasonably quick and quiet focus, sharp results. Details in the test shots were very sharp, no noticeable vignetting.
Excerpt: I have to tell you that I am thrilled with my Tamron 24 to 70 mm F2 .8 lens for my Nikon D 7200. I had a friend that loaned me the Nikon 24-70 mm and I was very pleased with that as well. However, at the time I could not afford the Nikon version.
