Summary: Took fantastic photos and the build quality is great. However, I couldn't justify the price difference between it and the Sigma 15-50 F2.8. Still, if you prefer the slightly longer focal length, you can't go wrong with this.
Summary: I have owned this and the Nikon 24-70 AF-S f2.8 The Nikon is a beautifully made solid lens and I had no complaints with it. I was able to sell it for more than I bought it its that well regarded I swapped over to the Tamron because of comparable image quality in actual use and to save some money I use this zoom focal length almost exclusively as a walk around lens and so VC was the deciding factor I do a lot of hiking and travel and Im often having to shoot quickly or in...
Summary: I'm using this with a Nikon D600. Here's the thing about this lens: The first one that came in simply was not sharp. I simply could not get one photo to be in focus. I took it to a Nikon-authorized repair shop, and they ran a focus test on it. I thought perhaps they'd simply need to fine tune the focus. Instead, they told me they couldn't get the lens to take a sharp photo, and therefore focus test was impossible. It was a bad copy. The second one I got is excellent.

Summary: This Tamron zoom lens piqued my interest because DXOMark rates this (slightly) higher overall than my Nikon (Trinity) 24-70mm f/2.8G ED AF-S zoom; hence I wanted it as a "back-up" to my carry-around/versatile Nikon lens. By now, I've had few 100's of pictures taken between the two lenses with our 3 Nikon cameras, mostly in daylight conditions, using a tripod, taking with Live View (with cable release and remote) to avoid camera shakes, and all cameras set to "Neutral"...
Summary: !!Winning!! for $300 less than full price. Took kids pics recently, very very sharp and bokeh is awesome. I read lot of good reviews on this lens and to spend that kind of money, I was little hesitant and now I am glad to spend extra amount after looking at the results.
Summary: Just came back from my Europe trip made around 3 thousand pictures after reviewing most of them can tell for sure lens is great VC did a wonderful job this lens will put nikon 24-70 in very uncomfortable position it does not offer VR it not bad but it cost almost 40% more Anyway Tamron is very good, pictures sharp, vibration compensation does outstanding job, construction solid, lens does has weather seal back gasket.
Summary: Got this lens for about $1000 on here, and I must say I do believe I got one of the best deals ever. This is my first third-party lens, and my first used lens. It's also my most expensive lens as well! My other two lenses being my Nikon 18mm-55mm kit lens and the popular 35mm 1.8 lens. I wanted to start building my "trinity" of lenses, so I figured 24mm-70mm would be the best place to start. I use a Nikon D5100, and this lens is a freaking beast attached to it!
