Summary: Great: Quick auto focus, light enough to use hand-held. Nice smooth zoom, and easy twist on-off for filters. Not as great: When at full zoom, sometimes the lens "jumps" when focusing, and may have trouble with autofocus. I've just started using manual focus while on tripod for extreme zoomed subjects. No problems that way, even on long exposures. Just last night, I used this lens to photograph the full moon and some night time street scenes in my town.
Summary: So far, love this lens. It takes great pictures, I have seen very little CA, colors are sharp and clear. I love the fact that I don't have to keep changing lenses. It's a great lens for shooting landscapes.
Summary: This has become my standard carry lens, and has beat out some of my other mid zooms from Nikon. When I am at an event, and have no idea what I need, this will be the lens. When I am just out for fun, this is the lens. When I want to have 1 lens, and little weight, this is the lens.
Summary: I have used this lens now for about 8 months. I love it. The lens has been the best investment since buying my camera and was quite a bit less than a similar Nikon. This lens takes the place of two of my most used lenses. I am a novice photographer and love to take pictures of family and nature. My family has commented on many more of my photos since using the lens. The pictures just look better.
Summary: I did a lot of reading of personal reviews before I decided to buy this lens. I came from a 4/3 lens system so going to a full frame set up was entirely new to me. I was on a limited budget so the most bang for my buck was in order. Going on vacation to Disney Land was on the list first, and I must say I could not have picked a better lens. For an all around lens this thing worked great.
Summary: This is my first Tamron so I wasn't sure what to expect. This is the best lens I've owned yet in terms of clarity and definition. The seller was very cordial and the product was packaged very well.
Summary: this is my second Tamron 28-300 the first was the non VC for the cropped sensor I loved it too so I bought one for my full frame Canon 5D MII and my old Kodak full frame 14Pro...lens is great on both bodies. Though this is my "hiker" lens it is also perfect for events and weddings. You can't beat the compactness and weight, fairly fast, and 10X reach with superb glass to boot.
Summary: Tamron makes a superb aftermarket lens the rivals the main manufacturers. The autofocus and vibration compensation are excellent with this zoom lens. I actually purchased this used on Amazon and could not be happier using this with my Nikon D600. I have actually put my original Nikon lens away for back up. Tamron is my choice for the aftermarket lens !!!
