good little lens

James C. Lang, Amazon
17 March 2014
  • Summary: Great for the price, I am a former PJ/Marketing person and I think I got a great lens. Some individuals are not that pleased but it does it all quite well. Yes, it is not a $5,000 dollar lens but still darn good. For the web or digital prints "its the px of the camera more than the lens". The only issue I have with mine is that if you take the lens lock off and point the camera at the ground the lens will extend. But I think that's just my lens.

Tamron 18-250 lens has a short life span

Craig Wales "ReadingGranny", Amazon
7 January 2014
  • Summary: I bought this lens in 2010 and for the most part it worked as advertised. Obviously, since it is a wide range zoom lens I am not a professional looking for the money shot, but I like to be able to show off my photos with some pride. Until late 2013 this lens worked well and suited my needs. Then the auto-focus motor or drive components started to drag so that the lens would not focus while the motor struggled and clicked to complete the action.

If you see one, buy it!

  • Summary: I wanted a walk-around lens that gave me a lot of capability and was compatible with my Nikon digital cameras. I have always had good luck with Tamron lenses and purchased this lens (the 18-250mm F/3.5-6.3) to fill the bill. The lens works great, gives sharp photo's and covers a wide zoom range. The lens is a little heavy and big but comparable to the Nikon lenses of the same type. The price was also great and was within my budget.

  • Summary: lets talk geek for one mint. 18mm F/3.6...22mm f/3.8...26 f/4...32mm f/4.2....35mm f/4.5 so u see it changes F/stops pretty quickly by the time u get to 155mm you are F/6.3 what i wish is that it would go to F/5.6 . i shoot with a D7000 i am use to prime lens so to me it gets dim when u try to go all out at 250mm but for what it is a travel zoom it does a great job after some testing and fine tuning with AF-tune i got it set to -5 and increase the sharping to 7 it makes...
