Great value for the price!

Summary: I wanted this sized lens because of the versatility of it, but didn't want to pay an arm and leg. I was going on vacation and didn't want to lug around my big camera bag with several lenses. This one worked perfectly. I was able to take beautiful pictures and create awesome memories. This is not my favorite lens.
Summary: I only shoot video with my canon t2i and have several long and short lenses. On quite a few shoots I would need to switch from a long lens to a short lens taking up precious time on a location. The Tamron saved me the lens switching. It is a little slow on auto focus, but when shooting video that is not an issue. It is also a little heavy, but again, it spends 90% of it's time on a tripod, my shoulder rig, or the dolly so the weight is not a problem.
Summary: I have this lens mounted on my Nikon D 5100. I was looking for a all in one lens for general purpose uses. I found it with this lens. F/3.5 though not the lowest F stop on the market, but hey, it serves it's purpose and the photographs look great.
I got more than I bargained for (in a positive manner)

Summary: Excellent lens. Arrived in a timely manner. I was able to take stunning pictures of the Commencement ceremonies i attended. I now use only one lens for all my needs. Excellent quality at an economical price!
Summary: Perfect all around lense. Allows you to use one lense for everything and does a relatively good on every thing. For my needs I use it with a Sony a350 and slt55v. If your a professional I am sure you may find some faults with it. I am pleased....
Summary: Which is why I'm giving this five stars. The accessories in this kit are incidental to this review - since it was the lens I was after. This lens is phenomenal. Replacing both my 18-55mm kit lens and my 70-210 Tokina lens, means I'll always have the right lens mounted on my Sony A57. The lens allows macro shots that a stunningly clear and at the same time will allow me to shoot a bird a hundred feet away, if I so desire. That's my kind of lens.
