Excerpt: This lens is perfect for me: an avid photographer but a non-professional. The range (18-200) is great. The size and weight are perfect for me. Since I am approaching past middle age and suffer from arthritis in my hands, that is important. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants the zoom function while keeping the 18-35 range for your photos.
Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
Excerpt: I've been looking for an all-in-one lens like this for some time when I'm shooting family photos and for spots when I do some action pics at the school where i work. Just when you thing you need a wide lens my big telephoto was there and when I needed the big zoom I had the wide angle on. This lens allows me to have the right focal lengths when I need it to capture all those million dollar middle school smiles.
Pros: Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
Excerpt: I purchased the Tamron 18-200 macro lens to replace the original Nikon lens which was damaged during a Desert outing. Tamron functions well, can't complain about the price either. I keep having to remind myself to keep my fingers off the focus ring, while in auto focus mode.
Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus
Excerpt: Bought this lens to cover the full range for vacation and general family shooting. The wide angle makes it easy to get those tight indoor shots and the 200mm zoom works well for longer distance close up. I shot a lot of nature, architectural, and family snapshots over the last couple of months and have loved the flexibility. It is also right at 3" which gets me into concerts and other events that have the 3" lens limitation.
Great when you're in situations where you can't be changing ...

Summary: Great when you're in situations where you can't be changing lenses all the time. A lot of times I'm in a boat, or other areas where changing the lens from one to another can let dirt or water get into the camera. This makes it much easier!
