Summary: its BIG! Mine does`nt included the hood and its really big when in 400mm, gets people attention that could be a con. Built like a tank, heavy and surprisingly fast for the size of the lens, images are very good w/proper support, it does not have vibration reduction of course, so it needs a monopod (which I´m going to buy for it) or a good tripod, with those, images are excellent except at full 400mm as other reviewers say.
Tamron 400 LD`175 gives the rest a run for the money.

Summary: Considering its price, and robust build quality, and excellent performance, this was one of my most sensible and reassuring purchase choices, especially when you see the prices of its contemporaries ,admittedly it may be possible to see better results from vastly more expensive equipe,if numbers are not a consideration,,,lucky you,but this does the job, without feeling like it has to be kept in cotton wool,,very easy to use,and it looks cool, sleek, and professional kit.
Summary: I have taken several shots with this lens it sharp clear with very good color quality. I do stop it down to about F11 but with most lense of this type you should. I of course always use a tripod.
Summary: This is a nice lens with a very usable range. As long as you aren't a "pixel peeper" you'll be very satisfied. Tough to beat without spending thousands of dollars. The folks that complain about lack of sharpness are probably not using a tripod and shooting at slow speeds. You can hand hold it but you need fast shutter speeds .... no surprise.
Summary: I have say I was disappointed with this lens. It simply doesnt produce in focus photos. I tried to convince myself that it did produced in focus but it doesnt. I tried it on a D3 and D3000 and in each camera the photos werent sharp. I dont blame this on the seller I just think being a cheaper lens with less glass it isnt that good.
Summary: Bought to take autoracing photos @ Daytona Rolex 24hrs. Very happy with the results. Use an A35 Sony. Able to do some handheld low speed photos as well as using monopod. A little heavy but still a very nice lens.
The seller is very good, I would buy from them again.

Summary: While not completely accurate on the condition of the internals, I think this was a fabulous deal and am glad I bought it. There is a touch of fungus on a couple of planes, but it's not a big deal, and does not signify that the lens was improperly cared for, it just happens with long lenses.
Summary: this is a great lens fast response time with zoom; images are share and clear. Great value for the money.........if your on the fens about this one jump off and get it you won't be disapointed.
