Summary: I tried this and had a horrible time with my HDR-CX150 focusing.. Video was consistently blurry.. I then ordered a Zeikos .45 Wide angle which is only $10 on Amazon.. the Zeikos is smaller, lighter, and had no video distortion even with zoom... so yeah um....
Summary: 90% of the time I have this lens on my camcorder and really love it. Had it for quite a few years and it has held up well. No complaints. I first got it to film from my ultralight but now I rarely take it off.
Summary: The instant I installed this wide angle lens on my CX110 Handycam I loved it. This is the lens the camera should come with if you do a lot of indoor shooting. I may leave this on all the time.
Summary: The lens does a great job at adding a little extra coverage to the scene. It is not to be confused with a "fish-eye" lense that is ultra wide coverage. I like that it does not distort my image like a fish-eye can.
Pros: Easy To Use, Improves Picture Quality, Interfaces Well With Camcorder
Summary: I bought this for my Sony DCR-TRV33. I use it mostly for family videos, especially with my kids. For me, the wide end of the zoom range is more important than the tele. The stock zoom never offered a wide enough field to capture indoor activities well. I was always backing into a wall trying to get everyone in the frame. With this adapter, I can more easily frame everyone and still have a useful tele capability.
Pros: Easy To Use, Good Value, Interfaces Well With Camcorder
Summary: Love the wide angle lens. Most of the Sony Handycams have a fairly narrow field of view out of the box. Lens screws on easily and definitely increases your FOV. I am using this for paranormal research where many times you are in somewhat cramped quarters. Best price I have seen for this item. Amazon did an excellent job with shipping. Arrived timely and intact.
