Summary: The lens arrived quickly and was packaged very well. I just purchased the Sony A6000 after years of owning a Canon Elph. I do a lot of camping/hiking and like to take my camera along and the Elph worked well for that. However I wanted to do more with a camera and so after my Elph stopped working, did some research and decided on the A6000. So far, I've loved the camera. And I've started playing with this macro lens which so far has been great!
Summary: I use it on the Sony A7 and it works good for shooting stagnant subjects up close. I think shooting bugs would be a problem because you need to get really close to the subject for full macro mode. At the price of less than $300 you cannot go wrong with this macro lens. It is slow to auto focus at times, but works well in manual focus mode also, especially with focus peaking in Sony cameras. Check out instagram.com/jedimasterbuilder for macro pics taken with this lens.
Excerpt: This is a wonderful lens and the price is great. I am not a professional photographer by any stretch, however I am a jeweler and metalsmith and wanted good pics of my jewelry that I create. I love that I can get really close up pics that show great detail. For me, I was always trying to get the correct angle and lighting and just leaving the nex-5 in the auto position.
Summary: I was skeptical about this item. Having the lens in it's original box with the lens hood, front/rear cap and the rest of the accessories. I'm using everything that came with this kit. The bag is handy when packing multiple lenses in a bag to avoid scratching. The lenspen I have not used yet because I still have one that have some use left. The SD card, brand new in it's original packaging, quite nice.
