Great lens....needs external flash attachment for NEX-6 to avoid shadow on picture.

Summary: Great all in one close and zoom lens. Takes excellent pictures. There is a problem, however, with the built in flash on the NEX 6 camera and this lens. The lens creates a shadow on the picture which is totally unacceptable to me. Therefore, I bought the Sony HVLF20M, MI Shoe External Flash for my NEX-6 camera.
Excerpt: This is the second SEL18200 that I've owned -- I rather foolishly sold my first one a couple of years ago, but I sure missed it, and thus I bought this new one. Extended-range lenses like this are always some kind of compromise, but the compromises in this lens are in how it is bigger and heavier and more expensive than most others -- and thus, the compromises are not in the optics or the image stabilization or the price, so "you get what you pay for.
Summary: This discusses the key advantages and disadvantages of this Sony emount lens. Overall this is a great all around lens that provides great photos in most situations. I use this lens for taking action photos at swim meets and the photos come out great. It is also perfect for portraits.
Excerpt: I work as a ski resort videographer, and this is my go too lens for action. Admittedly, its not as crisp as its Cannon and Nikon counterparts, but its autofocus is superb and works great at 240fps. At its retail price, this lens is really a bargain for shooting fast action over a wide depth of field.
Pros: Easy To Use, Lightweight, Reliable, Versatile
Summary: Amazing Lens! Takes Crisp Clear pictures throughout the zoom range and still manages very clear results at the far end too. Like other reviewers have said, You will experience lens creep if you don't use the lock button on the lens, but that doesn't bother me at all. This is my new all around lens for my camera. You will not be disappointed!
Excerpt: I am a retired pro, and moved to Sony e-mount system to reduce weight and space needs. Although this lens is fairly heavy, it's a great "one lens fits all" for travel, and very sharp, even at 200 mm. I was worried about speed of auto-focusing, as I have been frustrated by the Sony 55-210 kit lens. I tested the lens at a soccer game, shooting at f6.3 using the a6000's 11 fps motor drive, and marveled at the speed and sharpness of the auto focus.
Pros: Easy To Use, Reliable, Useful zoom range, Well Made
Excerpt: This lens came with my Sony NEX-FS100 and I never use it on that camera. It has fogged on me 3 times. This requires opening the front element and cleaning the inside of the front lens. Sony should have made this lens better for the elements. I gave it 3 stars because of the results I get when using it with my NEX-7. I love it for a photo lens, but not on my big video camera.
