Summary: The lens was everything it should be, functioned as advertised. I was very disappointed in the packaging. The lens dimensions are approximately 2 inches in diameter and 1 inch tall. It was packed in a 6x4x4 box (a good one) loosley wrapped in a small piece of bubble wrap, no tape involved. When I opened the box the bubble wrap was on one end of the box leaving about two thirds of the boxes volume empty.
Excerpt: This lens has a pretty neat design and is quite compact but in the end, it's all about the images and this thing fails. I took a few dozen shots with it (bought it as part of a kit with my A6000) and thought wow, this camera sure doesn't produce very nice images. Then I put a Sigma 30mm f/2.8 prime on it and BAM! Wow! Amazingly detailed, contrasty, colorful, sharp images. The problem was NOT the camera. It was the lens.
Pros: Acceptable In The Middle, Lightweight, Small Innovative
Cons: Poor Color And Contrast, Produces Soft Images, Very Distorted Wide End
TRAVEL COMPANION, and good All-Around Lens for Portablity...

Summary: Don't have any bad things to say about this compact lens...It is what it is - a smaller usable travel alternative to the standard 18-55mm zoom, combined with a 16mm pancake. Cannot see much distortion in standard stills, but would go out to about 22mm before shooting panoramas with this lens. Nice realistic photos, not 3D, but not "flat" either. Color rendition is good. You could spend more and still get similar results.
It pay to look, before you over pay somewhere else, thanks to E-bay!

Summary: I bought the Sony a5100 body no lens. I wanted a compact zoom lens just so happen on was for sell used but never used. I took the camera on vacation to Vegas. the lens performed great in low light and bright light, very sharp clean prints I saved about 200 getting it from E-bay
Summary: An outstanding kit lens. I was looking for a lens that I could use on my NEX 5N when traveling that would make it small enough to be convenient to carry around. I already own a bunch of primes for this camera, including the 16mm which is a great size and quality, but a 16 can be a bit wide for some things. This lens is only slightly larger then the 16 yet it offers a range to 50mm (making it a 24- 74mm when you convert it to it's 35mm equivalent).
