Summary: love it love the price love almost everything if it had a little more build quality ..such as metal mounting plate to the camera body it wouldn't seem so gimicky that said its a great lens at a great price and im very happy with it the focus motor seems a little noisey but most times i have it in manual hope this helps you make your mind up
Summary: Hello everyone, it is all my fault for buying cheep, this lens has a Red outline on the subjects, it gives a sheep look to the picture, this could work for some people if that is the look you are after.
Summary: I bought this lens because I really wanted a portrait lens with a wide aperture, and I was very excited to get it. But upon buying it, I've noticed that pictures I've taken where my subject is in direct sunlight or is backlit, are subjected to EXTREME color fringing. The lens is great, and the fringing is easily corrected in Lightroom, but it is just a big let down that my images are fringing so badly.
Summary: Perfect item. Very nice pictures with this lens, briliant and very good an fast focus. Value for money. The best choise if you need a portrait lens for yous sony dslr and you haven't money for the f/1.4. Plastic but heave its ok with that!
Summary: Love the lens and love the quality of the pictures. I am no way a professional so I won't get into specifics other than I have gotten better pictures with this lens than with the stock on my Sony a65. I would give it a 4.5 if I could and I almost want to go for the 5 because my only complaint may very well be my mistake.
Summary: Great lens for the Price. One of the must have lenses for all Sony alpha users. It does get a bit tight for indoor photography, so that's something to keep in mind. A 35mm 1.8 would probably be a better choice for that. Also, the video can get a little noisy in AF mode because this lens is not exactly quiet. I don't do a lot of videos, so I don't really care about that.
