Excerpt: it is fast to focus . im impressed with focus speed .in the day time. it dose not bounce around looking for focus. in low light it will hunt a little. when zoomed in on a spider and its web.but it will focus sharp on it with out tripod . it is not a low light lens . how ever if it is your only lens .doing a low light your iso will be extra high. and a slow shutter speed .best to use tripod in this case .back in the day time. your going to be very happy.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
Summary: This lens is really sharp. It's a little different from a lower end telephoto because you have to make some adjustments manually to start to get it into focus. But, once you are used to that, it's awesome in the clarity. I just shot with it for two weeks in Yellowstone Park, and was able to get really super sharp shots of elk, buffalo, bears, rams, and landscapes.
Excerpt: First of all this a very well made lens. It is part of Sony's "G" series and worth the extra price. Quality feel, quick focusing. It is very sharp and I've gotten some great pictures with it. But it is also surprisingly light weight. So if you plan on hiking you won't mind bringing this lens with you.
Excerpt: I use this lens on a sony nex 6 and it has given me the ability to really zoom into nature. Putting this lens on my camera gives me about a 450 zoom capacity. The pictures are sharp even when I am holding the camera and the weight is still incredibly light.
Pros: Consistent Output, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
Summary: Bought this lens to use with my new A7R (and adapter) and this lens is simply amazing. Granted depending on what you are shooting you really need a tripod to stabilize the camera I got some terrific shot just hand held. A must own.
Excerpt: This is my favorite telephoto zoom of all time. I use it on an A65. I really have NO complaints about this lens. It is sharp and has excellent contrast. AF is dead fast and reliable. Easy to manual focus as well. Very nice bokeh. This brings me to the reason I switched to this lens from the Sony 70400G. Although the 70400G is an excellent performer, I found this bohek often times to be harsh.
Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
Summary: Very crisp picture and quick to auto focus. Great tool in my bag for getting closeups. Travels well but is not a light weight. She will let you know she is in your bag. I also carry a SAL 16-50 2.8. Those 2 give me the range and clarity for any occasion. Glad i have it.
