Affordable Sony Long Zoom lens.

Gabezz, Amazon
  • Summary: This is another lens I purchased along with a 30mm macro, and I am very happy with Sony. I been able to zoom in on those elusive Cardinals an blue jays. The image quality is superb. Most definitely recommended to any one wanting to get serious with their camera. Camera used SLT-a57. Just fantastic.

Warning to Wildlife Photographers

Rick L Wilson, Amazon
  • Summary: I'm currently trying to get my hand on wildlife photography, and my current lens were far too small. So, I managed to get my hands on these. For the price, the zoom is great - and can pick up a faraway object easily... as long as it focuses.

Sharp and versatile

grahamus, B&H Photo
25 March 2015
  • Excerpt: Excellent value for money, can hunt for focus at times but pictures are sharp and over 85% are keepers. Took this on safari in South Africa and was extremely happy with the results. Cannot warrant paying 5 times or more for faster glass when I use it mostly outdoors.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Lightweight
  • Cons: Poor in Low Light

Can't be beat in this price range.

Bill, B&H Photo
20 January 2015
  • Excerpt: I got the Sony A77II with 16-50 2.8 bundle to get me into the Sony A mount system. I wanted a telephoto zoom, but didn't have much left to spend on one. So I picked up this lens with a rebate that made it about half of what it normally sells for. I'm impressed!
  • Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Lightweight, Price
  • Cons: Slow Focus

  • Summary: I currently own the 18-55mm, the 55-200mm, and a Tamron 200-500mm but the 55-300mm is excellent in quality and function. Well packaged and delivered on schedule, the product is perfect for out door life shots without a tripod. I am very pleased with this lens!
