Summary: Sharp and light!!! I'm using this on the Sony A7Rii with the LAEA3 adapter and cannot be more pleased. Are there longer Sony lenses with better IQ? No doubt but they will weigh a ton and cost a fortune and honestly the SAL 500mm is geared toward wildlife.
Summary: Top Quality lens, small, compact, and very lite weight. Easier to carry, than my big 170-500mm lens which takes up a lot of space. Picture quality is excellent under the most demanding conditions. Would recommend buying this lens to anyone. Great lens for the money.
Summary: This is another lens I purchased along with a 30mm macro, and I am very happy with Sony. I been able to zoom in on those elusive Cardinals an blue jays. The image quality is superb. Most definitely recommended to any one wanting to get serious with their camera. Camera used SLT-a57. Just fantastic.
Summary: I'm currently trying to get my hand on wildlife photography, and my current lens were far too small. So, I managed to get my hands on these. For the price, the zoom is great - and can pick up a faraway object easily... as long as it focuses.
Excerpt: Excellent value for money, can hunt for focus at times but pictures are sharp and over 85% are keepers. Took this on safari in South Africa and was extremely happy with the results. Cannot warrant paying 5 times or more for faster glass when I use it mostly outdoors.
Excerpt: I got the Sony A77II with 16-50 2.8 bundle to get me into the Sony A mount system. I wanted a telephoto zoom, but didn't have much left to spend on one. So I picked up this lens with a rebate that made it about half of what it normally sells for. I'm impressed!
