Sony SAM lense affordable and capable of good IQ if you learn how to use it
18 June 2013
Summary: The new range of Sony's standard "kit" lens with SAM are fantastic for their price, granted they will not give you the IQ of a G or Zeiss but in the right conditions and hands, they can certainly come very close. When I travel with my A57, the SAL 1855,55200,50/1.8 and 35/1.8 SAMs are always in my bag, helps a great deal that they are so light and affordable, which offsets the plasticky and not so solid build of the lense.
Summary: It is a light, compact lens. I bought it for every day use although I'll use the 18 - 70mm for close-ups but not macro work. I'm taking this lens with me on a tour of the UK and Europe and will see how it manages in varying climates and different light conditions.
Summary: An excellent made-in-Japan lens for an amateur who does not need a big, heavy and expensive pro-oriented lens but, on the other hand, is looking for something more advanced than a simple point-and-shoot palm-sized digital camera.
Summary: This lens is light, sharp, easy to use. Covers a very usable range from 55mm to 200mm. This is the range that I most often use. Colors are great. The filter size is 55mm which enables me to save some money and use the same filters for this lens as well as the kit 18-55mm lens. Couldn't be happier.
Summary: LOVE IT!! I get the best shots of my son playing basketball. Clear, crisp pictures. I'm not a professional, I just got my digital camera several months ago to photograph my son in various sports. I am in love with my camera and my next purchase will be an even longer lens.
Summary: This lens was cheaper from ebay than anywhere else in the world. The lens takes the best photographs I have seen in a long time and the extras that came with it are magnificent. I would recommend this product to anyone interested in photography on any level.
