Conclusion: The Sony 30mm f/2.8 DT macro ( SAL-30F28 ) shines in many aspects. Like most dedicated macro lenses it is extremely sharp straight from f/2.8 till about f/11 and even f/16 can be considered as a mainstream setting.
Summary: Overall, this is a very interesting lens, especially when its price is taken into consideration. It offers a macro solution that is capable of producing images of very good quality, so long as it is used within its limitations.
Pros: Lightweight, Compact, Capable of very good results, Excellent value for money
Cons: Short working distance can be a challenge to work around, Barrel distortion, Chromatic aberrations may be visible in high contrast images
