Summary: I love this lens! I've had it six months now ... I am primarily an outdoor, nature, birds, landscapes .. photographer. I've had problems in the past with having to constantly change lenses (dust getting in the camera etc# .. This lens covers all my needs from 18mm to 250mm. Quality Quality Quality .. I'm very pleased with the photos this lens produces .. very little aberration I had been using a Tamron 70-300 and there is NO comparison ... the Sony is awesome.
Summary: This lense was part of a kit buy with the A65. I have used this lense and some of my old Minolta glass with the A65 and this lense does NOT pale in comparison. Even though it isn't a Zeiss lense and not sure how much better a Sony G lense might be, this one with it's wide breadth of 18 to 250 does well. I do notice some lense creep when the camera is at severe anlges and can be frustrating when trying to accomplish HDRs.
Summary: I have had this lens for a while, and these are the only cons i found. There is vignetting on some of my images, distortion on many, in some cases struggles to find focus, and very loud when it does. This lens is nice for a first lens, but definitely not a pro lens. These are my warnings.
Pros: zoom, design
Cons: vignette, struggles to find focus, noise of focus, distortion
