Excerpt: I purchased this lens for an A77 mk1. I have been a hobby photographer for 40+ years and, having been raised on primes, I dislike zooms with intensity. I saw the light, no pun intended, with this lens.
Excerpt: i have owned this lens for almost two years and it practically replaced my go-to prime lens, the sony 35mm f1.8. It is sharp at all focal length, with tiny drop in sharpness at 50mm wide open. At 24mm and 35mm it has maximum sharpness.
This is one of the most useful and versatile lenses I've ever used

Summary: This is one of the most useful and versatile lenses I've ever used. I've had it for about 6 months and I use it with my Sony a65. The wide focal range is perfect for landscapes and tight spaces; the ability to zoom to 50mm is perfect for portraits and close up shots.
Summary: I researched this lens exstensively before I purchased it, and I finally got it at at a reasonable price (under $400.00) .Supply & demand being what it is, the price gouging on the decent Sony Lenses & Flashes has been RIDICULOUS!
Excerpt: This is to replace my kit lens for my A57. I can not belive the difference its mades. Images come out sharp and clean. I also have a Tamron 18-270 which i just love but decided to go with Sony Brand on this one and I am very pleased .
Excerpt: This was the kit lens that came with my Alpha 77. The lens is equivalent to the super expensive $1998.00 Sony/Zeiss 24-70/2.8 but at a very reasonable price. The 16-50 is a APS-C/Crop sensor lens and it's the full frame equivalent of a 24-75/2.8.
