Excerpt: I have used this lens in low light situations in air craft museums. The images are razor sharp with fantastic color. This lens sees every detail. I have used it on my A65 and A77 in other situations and the results are the same sharp detail and color.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
Summary: WOW! This is my carry around lens on my A65 now. I see no reason to change it out often. Especially since the image quality is amazing. Family pics indoors, YES. Landscape outdoors, YES. Absolutely LOVE this lens.
Lens took great shots but broke for no reason when used for the second time!

Summary: Just disappointed. Was taking fantastic photos but one day something on the inside I think has shattered or broken- my picture quality and focus was all gone. I've used sony for years and taken photos whilst hiking, on safari and they've been robust. This was a weekend break and my second time using the lens, and without any triggers or knocks, and whilst always being protected - the lens completely failed. I was disheartened more than anything.
Excerpt: Using this lens with the FS100. When I purchased the FS100, I used a Metabones adapter with my existing EOS 5D lenses, but I wanted a flexible lens with the autofocus feature. I first gor the Sony NEX Mount Adaptor since I knew some new Sony lens were coming out. After many months of searching, I opted for this lens as the best choice and for the price, it turns out that this was a totally great choice.
Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus
Summary: I bought this lens for my A77 and it is a good lens. My main usage for it is in the wide angle range since I already have prime lenses at 35 and 85mm. However, once you put this on your camera, it is hard to take it off since it covers most of the range I desire. Only when you need wider aperture that you do need to change lens. Build quality is awesome and it looks very professional. IQ is consistent with the other reviews. Overall, it is the best lens for general use.
Summary: I got this for its speed and its reputation as being about the sharpest lens out there in this zoom range. It has not disappointed so far. I use this lens for landscapes and other outdoor scenes, generally on SLIK's 700 tripod, but I also find the speed makes it handy for the indoor available light work I occasionally do for our local newspaper.
Summary: You definitely get what you pay for. There is a noticeable difference in image quality from the kit lens throughout the range. Plus now you can take some indoor and night photos without a flash. Constant F/2.8 gives you so much flexibility. Unlike many lenses this is very sharp at F/2.8 and hits maximum sharpness in the center just 1 or 2 clicks up. But you won't notice it unless you crop an awful lot.
Excerpt: This lens shows off the reason I bought a DSLR. The sharpness and brighness of the images are amazing. The bokeh is superb, and I find myself manually setting the aperture to f2.8, and I have not seen any drop in sharpness. This is a sturdy lens with a good amount of heft, so i'm not so worried about light knocks when using my sling strap. This lens stays on my camera 90% of the time.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh
Summary: This is my go to lens for indoors or video. Very nice results. Fast and quiet. A bit heavy, but worth it when you need a fast, quiet lens with some zoom. I'm using this on an alpha 65 (24MP APS-C SLT model).
