Excerpt: Seems to be all that I expected. Going to take it on next big trip for in the field experience. Works with my Nex6 Sony with the adaptor just fine. Pictures appear crisp and sharp and little to disappoint. Not a photo pro so don't have a lot of technical stuff to say about it.
Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Rugged, Strong Construction
Summary: It's hard to say that I believe a lens is not up to all the high praise it receives when so many people seem so happy with it, but that's my situation. I have spent a week shooting birds as well as just ordinary snaps around the garden with my new Sony 70-400 G2 on my trusty A77ii.
Excerpt: After reading the accolades about this lens I question myself and what I'm experiencing, but I have to say that, provisionally, the sharpness of this lens at full magnification is much inferior to the Sony 70=300G SSM.
Summary: I am not a professional photographer, but I have shot thousands of pictures especially of birds. Autofocus speed and sharpness are spectacular. With the A58 is very comfortable. I am surprised and very satisfied. My only problem now is that when the photos are bad, I can't blame the lens...
Excerpt: This lens has surprised me. A prior reviewer said it exceeded expectations. The same has been true for me on a Sony a77MII. I am getting nice, bright, sharp actions shots (sports primarily) even at full telephoto.
Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus
Excerpt: Used correctly, thi lens in nothing short of outstanding. I had the previous version and when using it with my A99, I was not impressed. The G2 is really different. The AF is much faster and more accurate. The CA is well controlled, and contrast/sharpness is more than i hoped for.
Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Strong Construction
