Summary: Great build quality. Lots of options for focusing and range. Quick AF performance and minimal flare due to new coating. Fantastic image quality with amazing bokeh. Perfect for portrait, weddings and other events.
Excerpt: Sony A99 shooter with all Zeiss glass 135mm f1.8, 85mm f1.4, 24-70mm f2.8......this lens is way better than I thought it would be.Image quality is amazing! Build quality is great! Worth the money! You get what you pay for.
Excerpt: I use this lens on my A99, and shoot it at f2.8 or 4 whenever possible. It's tack sharp, from f4 on down, and f2.8 is as sharp or sharper than either the new Canon or Nikon 24-70 f2.8. This is also an excellent portrait lens for in the field (I use its shorter Zeiss counterpart in the studio), but it is large and heavy. The color rendition, contrast and sharpness of this mid-tele rivals that of several primes due to its new coatings. Flare and CA are non-existent.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
