Best 400 Prime out there!

17gpsp, Ebay
17 May 2010
  • Summary: This lens is amazing. It is razor sharp, and the contrast and color is top notch. The only reason to buy the Canon EF 400mm 5.6 L would be to stop down the aperture. I have a newer EOS digital body that I use it on and it can only be used wide open, but SO WHAT?! That is what we buy fast super-teles for, to use them wide open. If it isn't sharp wide open, I won't touch it. It has a nice weight to it.

The Cannon

k9charlie1298, Ebay
5 November 2009
  • Summary: Who cares if Sigma discontinued this model and went to the 150-400, the lens still does a great job. Its built well and might be considered a bit heavy, but it relays your ideas on to the screen or paper. The picture is sharp and detailed. The sound of the servo motor inside the lens takes some time to get use to,but it pays off in the final product. It costs less then a Canon lens and is affordable for almost anyone.

Steady and ready;What a lens!!!

woodmannii, Ebay
4 August 2009
  • Summary: Sigma has delivered a reasonably priced vibration resistant or compensating glass which will deliver crisp, sharp images at marginal lighting situations. No, it isnt 2.8 but it isnt %$5000 either! For sports and wildlife this is an unimaginably great addition to your kit. Once outside I find anything around 100mm to be a defining kind of "wide" view, especially if my eventual goal is to magnify at either 400mm or,using the 2x,at 800mm.

Perfektes OS Tele-Objektiv mit Portrait-Eignung 1*

pimbuli1, eBay.de
8 January 2008
Dann war klar: ein neues Objektiv muss her - also Testberichte lesen, vergleichen, Meinungen abwägen usw.
