Summary: Unfortunately, I can't say that I was happy with this item. I purchased this item based on recommendations and was primarily using it for sports photos. Well it only lasted 4 months when I found that the lens had fallen apart while attached to the camera in my padded bag. I contacted Sigma regarding this small issue and sent it to their authorized repair center for repairs. All I can say is that warrant would not cover it do to physical damage.

Summary: CC:Amazon Customer Service This is a replacement for the exact same lens, b/c it is starting to wear out after 100,000+ photos. One of THE great lenses. As for 47th Street Photo:Customer satisfaction must not be a big deal here. You disregarded my email, sent BEFORE my order was shipped, in which I asked to work with you to get this delivered by Thursday 6/21. You ignored my inquiry, if in fact any human being read it at all.
Summary: I have had the lens for slightly over one year - just long enough for the warranty to have expired - and the auto-focus no longer functions. When I took the lens to the local camera shop, I was told that I was the second person that day with this lens who experienced the failure of the auto focus function. When the auto focus did function, the lense was great for action (sports, etc.) shots.
Summary: I purchased this lens after having owned the Tamron. This is a great lens except that I received mine with a significant back focus issue. I've read others complaining about this as well on the Nikon mount. I just don't believe this is acceptable in a lens at this price point.
Summary: [...] I'd love to say that this was a great buy being hundreds of dollars less than the canon L series equivalent but sadly that did not prove to be the case. The lens has a significant auto-focus problem that means it continually front focuses by several mm resulting in blurred and unsatisfactory output.
Summary: I keep getting blurry focus all the time. I had to use manual focusing a lot of times, the auto-focus does not work well. I bought it because I read some reviews and they said it was good and sharp. It is not true in my case. I wish I had bought the more expensive Nikkor lens but B&H did not have it on stock at the time that I was trying to secure the 70-200mm lens.
Summary: This lens, unfortunately has become a complete dissapointment. When I first got it, I thought it worked ok, but then noticed at 2.8 it had a horrible focusing problem. It simply would not focus 9 times out of 10, even though the camera said it was focused. So unfortunately, I could not see until I was done with the shoot that my images were worthless. I finally figured out the problem seemed to be an issue at 2.8.
