The Sigma APO 50-500mm F4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM is a 10x high zoom ratio ultra telephoto zoom lens that incorporates Sigma’s Optical Stabilizer function. It has a medium telephoto range of focal lengths from 70 mm to 200mm, a maximum aperture of F2.8 throughout the entire zoom range, an OS (Optical Stabilizer) function with a shutter speed 4 stops slower than conventional lens which allows users to utilize the lens (on Sony and Pentax SLRs) even if the camera body is equipped with an image sensor shift anti-shake system and is designed with four SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements that corrects color aberration. The lens also features Super Multi-Layer Coating which reduces flare and ghosting; has a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.1 (at the focal length of 200mm); and incorporates HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) for quiet and high speed AF. It comes with a step down ring enabling digital cameras with an APS-C size image sensor to use a diameter 86mm filter.
