Excerpt: I have several Sigma Lens, and decided to add this one to my bag.Great walk around lens, balances well on my D5100,solid build.Pictures come out sharp and very acceptical bokeh.Overall I would buy it again, great step up from a kit lens.
Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh
Excerpt: Focuses pretty quickly, silently and is very sharp. Good price for near excellent performance. I've not had any focusing issues as some have mentioned. I have identical copy in Nikon mount that has been trouble-free as well. Bokeh is good, not great.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh
Excerpt: I purchased this lens to primarily take pictures at my son's youth basketball games. I can sit court-side so long focal lengths aren't that necessary, what I need is a fast lens because of the typically poor lighting conditions in the gyms he plays in.
Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus
Excerpt: Fast, sharp wide open with stellar performance after f/4. Did not have to fine tune my copy on my D7100. Build quality is great, zoom & focus rings are smooth and nicely damped. IQ is excellent with great contrast and a mellow quality that I like.
Summary: Great piece of glass, I didn't used to think in to buy another brand different to nikon, I took the risk and have no regrets, despite the "problem" with the D7100, the true is that It don't affect the camera, the performance or the image quality.
Excerpt: The Sigma 17-50 OS lens was my first lens purchase outside of the kit lenses that came with my camera. The lens is tact sharp and is great in low light situations. I took this lens to a car show and it produced a handful of great pictures. This is the perfect walkaround lens.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
Read a lot of reviews and did a lot of research prior to buying. Reviews were spot on. Very happy with purchase!

Summary: I did a lot of research on lenses. I am an amateur photographer with limited funds. I received as a gift a Nikon D3200 this past December which came with two standard lenses. For now this is a hobby so needless to say I wanted to get a lens that would be benefit me financially.
