great for GBV

Freakshow, Amazon

  • Summary: Bought this lens to do panoramic photography. Worth every penny. I didn't have much choice because I needed it to be on Google's list of approved equipment to Google Business View. This lens works great for GBV, and has opened me up to shooting panos for fun. It's a very useful lens.

Not as pleased with this lens as I had hoped to be.

  • Summary: Not as pleased with this lens as I had hoped to be. My $300 8mm fisheye for my other brand camera shoots just as well and is just as sharp or sharper.

Amazon customer service really let me down with this purchase

Dan, Amazon
13 March 2014
  • Summary: First of all this was shipped and sold by Amazon, I don't want this to reflect on any of the other sellers. I ordered the Canon lens and they shipped me the Nikon lens. Unfortunately I need this lens by the weekend and the only resolution after a 38 minute phone call was the following: 1. Issue me a credit which will take 3-4 days to hit my Amazon account. 2. Issue me an RMA through UPS. 2. I have to re-order from one of the "Other buying choices". 3.

beautifully machined

  • Summary: I bought this for Google Business Photos. I only used mine a couple of times and am now selling it for $650 plus shipping ~ I wonder why they raised the retail price of it, I bought mine for just over $700 but retail is now more than $800. If you want to get one hardly used in perfect condition just scroll down to see the used fair. Amazon are handling the product - Why buy new when you could save a hundred dollars?

Does exactly what it is supposed to do

Ginger Davis Allman, Amazon
14 October 2013
  • Summary: First time I've bought a 'used' item on Amazon. I wouldn't have known it had been previously used if they hadn't told me. Packaging perfect, the lens works just as expected, and saved me some cash too.

Excellent quality but expensive lens

Vladimir Gorbunov, Amazon
13 July 2013
  • Summary: I'm using this lens with Canon EOS 6D full-frame camera (5D previously), and my previous fisheye lens was Peleng 3.5/8mm . The Sigma's optical quality is truly excellent in comparison with Peleng. The most important thing is that the resolution is far better than the Peleng's. It exceeds the capabilities of 12 MP sensor (5D) and looks very good at 20 MP (6D). This lens gave a huge boost of quality to my spherical panoramas.

Great Piece of Glass!

Amazon Customer, Amazon
29 June 2013
  • Summary: After reading hundreds of reviews on a variety of fisheye lenses, my choice of going with the Sigma 8mm f/3.5 has exceeded my expectations (which were high to begin with)! By far it wasn't the most expensive lens in the running, but I seriously doubt that I could have made a better choice than this!
