Summary: I absolutely love this lens, beautiful images! I broke my Nikon 50mm 1.4g lens, so I decided to try the Sigma. Blown away, what an amazing lens. It's a little heavy, but for the images I get, I carry it on me. I'm hoping to try the other sigma art lenses too.
Fantastic lens - just NOT out of the box fantastic!

Summary: First Impressions: When I received the product, I was very impressed with the weight, the build quality, the smooth manual focus with just the right amount of resistance to make it easy to be precise.
Summary: This lens is AWESOME! I have never bought something other than Canon, but I finally listened to the reviews and tried this one out. I am not disappointed. I owned the Canon 50mm 1.4 until my 4 year old became afraid of tinker bell at Disneyland and tried to climb up my body by gripping the camera...
Excerpt: I do professional Videography and some small amounts of photography and have to say Ive used both lenses from canon and sigma. The canon is smaller in comparison to this model but the pull on the focus ring has no weight behind it. Feels cheap and almost toyish.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
Summary: Forget canon lens and save extra bucks by buying this sigma art lens! Super sharp and quality of the lens is like Zeiss lenses. Am not kidding!! I have been Canon L junkie before sigma art came.
Summary: SHARP...SHARP....WEIGHTED AND BUILT EXTREMELY WELL! DID I MENTION, SHARP? Seriously, I've had the 35mm version of this lens for a while and felt like comparing the Sigma 50 to my Canon 50 f/1.4, guess which one is getting sold (hint: it begins with C).
