Experienced Photographer here. Don't look for fine clarity with this lens! (Used on Canon 6D, no slouch of a Camera!)

Summary: I've had this lens for about a year now and have taken 1000's of photos with it averaging 500 to 700 photos per event. I have found that while its great for general group, landscape, architectural, etc. type photography, it FAILS miserably at getting the eye pupil and iris in a clarity expectable for this photographer. Side by side comparison of this lens and my $100 Canon 50mm lens is embarrassing to the Sigma.
Summary: Good lens that we use for general purpose photography. A little slow on focusing, and not quite as good as the similar Canon in focusing in low light. It seems to give a sharper image on my full frame 5DII then my crop sensor 7D. I previously rented this same lens and the Canon version for a wedding and all the images looked just fine to me.
Sigma 24-70mm f2/8 IF EX DG HSM AF is a lens I would recommend for all sorts of photography.

Summary: Having this lens for the past month and out on several shoots I have been very pleased with the performance, sharpness, and captured light. What I have experienced is this lens has some issues on a full frame camera with chromatic aberration and lens flare. Then again, when I put this lens on a C-sensor camera all I can say is WOW! No fringing, no lens flare, tack sharp and absolutely gorgeous photographic results.
Summary: I needed a wider angle, all-purpose type of lens for everyday shooting. I almost got a "nifty 50," but at the last minute chose this one. I may still get a nice 50mm, but this lens is gorgeous. I recently used it on a wedding shoot and the pictures turned out beautifully. The only bad pictures were the photographer's fault (me), not the lens. It's slightly wider angle makes for getting some great shots.
Summary: I have been shooting for quite a while on kit lenses and mid grade lenses. And though I had heard a number of negative reviews about old Sigma lenses, I've found this generation to be of great quality. The price to quality ratio is way higher than I expected, and this is about as close to professional grade as you can get without going to the Canon L-Series lenses. If you're looking for most bang for the buck in upgrading, this is it.
4 out of 5 ONLY because it's not a Canon product, everything else is 5 Stars!

Summary: I've owned several Sigma lenses because THAT was what I could afford. I was never completely happy with the clarity they gave me, that is until now. This 24-70 2.8f lens is awesome clear! I'm using it on my Canon 6D and love the results. I've posted many of the photos on my website if you'd like to see the results. Go to www.xoxphotography.com and take a look. I don't sell anything on that website, so enjoy the photos all you want.
