plusses and minuses butstill better than my Canon 24-105

  • Excerpt: My Canon 24-104 f4 broke the week before I had a wedding to shoot on the island of Jamaica leaving from NYC...the zoom got stuck and would only work 24-50mm. I did use my Canon 24-105 a lot but I also used the Canon 24-70 2.8 just as often before I bought the 24-105 and it never broke.

Sigma is sharper than Canon 24-105 & Nikon 24-120

SkipperJack, B&H Photo
21 July 2015
  • Excerpt: This is an amazingly sharp, well color corrected lens. It performs better than either the Canon 24-105 on my Canon 1Dx or the 24-120 Nikon on my Nikon Df. In fact, this lens produces images that are better than many single focal length lenses.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction

Well worth the wait.

  • Excerpt: I love this lens. It has a great feel to it and is built like a tank. My only frustration with it was the wait time on receiving it from Sigma. It was back-ordered and took 2 months. But that disappeared quickly when I got the lens on my camera. I am more than pleased with the results.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Rugged, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Heavy

I wanted to like it

Manny, B&H Photo
9 July 2015
  • Excerpt: I purchased this lens as a possible cheaper substitute to a Nikon 24-70. This was my first choice since I've previously owned a 17-70 "C" from Sigma when I used to have my D7000. The build quality on the 24-105 is amazing.
  • Pros: Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Blurry Focus, Heavy, Slow Focus

Pros and cons

Erik G "Erik", Amazon
9 July 2015
  • Summary: Nice sharp lens and the manual focus feels great to adjust. Not the best for video because the focus zooms when turning. It's great for stills. I like this much better than my canon 24-105L. I just wished it was sealed and the focus didn't zoom in and out for video.

  • Summary: I took first 800 photos with this lens and it got stuck in th middle of my photography shooting. I was extremely disappointed, not just beacause my expensive lens got stuck but because I traveled so far to beautiful exotic location and could not shoot the photos which I needed.
