Does not work with full frame camera's
9 June 2014
Excerpt: WARNING! If you have a full frame camera do not buy this lens.

compatibility check says this lens will work with my Canon 6D. Only if you want a circular photos from 18mm- 100mm and a vignette around each photo at 250mm.
Excerpt: I first gave it four stars because of the versatility. I used it for images for the web and sharing sites first. It looked fine, but later when I tried to make larger prints, I found that the images were often far too soft.

Also I noticed that images were often out of focus. In the heat of shooting, I hadn't looked at the focus dot and the lens simply focused so slowly that either the shot was gone or the shutter beat the lens.
Excerpt: I purchased this on recommendation of the sales person for use on my Cannon T3i. I wanted a lens to replace the two kit lenses so I would not have to carry and switch between them. Bottom line, a disappointment. I returned it. 1) As another reviewer noted, it is advertised as 18-250mm, however it is equivalent to 18-200mm (based on my other lens). I would have thought this would be standard - that all 250mm should zoom equally. This lens does not.
Wish I could rate the product ordered, instead a story of bait-and-switch...

Summary: UPDATE #5: DECIDED TO SEE IF ORDERING FROM THE SELLER (47TH STREET PHOTO) THAT DOES NOT HAVE AMAZON FULFILLMENT AND FINALLY RECEIVED THE CORRECT LENS. GOTTA SAY THE OS WORKS WELL AND IT'S A BETTER LENS OVERALL THAN THE NEWER "MACRO" VERSION. NOW I JUST HAVE TO WASTE MY TIME SENDING THE OTHER TWO FROM BEACH CAMERA/AMAZON BACK.
WARNING: The Sony mount DON'T include OS (discountinued by Sigma)

Summary: I got this item last month right here, at Amazon (Sony mount). My biggest motivation was the OS, as I have a Sony Nex 5N and wanted this lens to use with my Alpha Lens adapter (LAEA2). Different than Sony's Alpha models (A55, A65, A77,...), the Nex line don't include body stabilization, something that makes lenses with OS extremely appealing. My biggest disappointment was to receive the lens WITHOUT the OS.
Excerpt: I went from a Canon to this. It just doesn't take the same quality photos. In addition it is hard to get up-close shots and the far away ones are grainy and not as clear. This is probably because the lens is hard to keep steady as it is quite heavy. It also has the hardest time focusing. I'm so frustrated with it.
Pros: Easily Interchangeable
Cons: Blurry Focus, Heavy, Poor in Low Light, Slow Focus
Excerpt: I have a Sigma 18-125mm which I really like. Bought a 18-250 for a backup for my Tamron 18-270mm. Received lens had a tight spot when you zoomed about halfway out. Thought it might get better with us so I took 1-200 photos zooming on each one. No change, returned it for replacement. Second lens had same problem only not quite as bad. Still caused a problem when zoomed as you expect smooth action so as not to interrupt your shooting.
Excerpt: The Lens OS would keep my D300 metering on for 60sec plus the metering time set on the camera. This would happen even with the OS switched off. Called Sigma Tech Support and just got a runaround answer. Sent
Lens back to Adorama and ordered Nikon 18-300 lens.
Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Strong Construction
Summary: Advertised as OS - Optical Stabilization for Sony DSLRS. Actually does not include optical stabilization BECAUSE Sigma claims that Sony has OS built into the body. I bought this Lens BECAUSE it had OS advertised and previous version of the same lens did have it built into the Lens, even for Sony. This is a Rip-Off!
Summary: I purchased this Sigma lenses recently after reading that it was compatible with Sony Alpha digital cameras. I attempted to use these lenses with my Sony A65. I was unable to take pictures with these lenses mounted to my Sony A65. After doing some research including calling Sigma I found out that these lenses are compatible only with Sony A35 and Sony A55.
