Excerpt: Pictures are incredibly crisp, Lens is efficient and it eliminates the need for constant Lens changes. I am a novice so I will not use all the lingo I read in all of these reviews. Plain and simple, the lens does not have to be changed all the time and the picture quality is so clear that cropping photos later on provide better pictures than a telephoto lens could take.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Strong Construction
Excerpt: HSM are quiet and fast on my K-3 body; a great lens when compared to similar offerings elsewhere. Aperture of f2.8 was indeed quick, but not quick enough, but please don't blame Sigma! My tastes are begining to lean toward the prime lens. I had to think long and hard about keeping this gem. I ended up using B and H's gracious policy to return, so I can fund pricier primes. Based upon Sigma build quality and price?
Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus
Summary: I just received the item and taking my first test shots with this lens. Even before fine tuning (calibration), I am pleasantly surprised with the quality of the results. The image at f/2.8 seems a little soft to my taste, but nothing alarming, all lenses perform not at their best when fully opened. Stopped down at 5.6 things start to get much much better, and at f/8 this lens really begins to shine.
Excerpt: I've only had this lens a couple weeks and have only been able to take test shots of pets and family/friends. Thus far I'm extraordinarily pleased with its performance, especially considering the price. This was my upgrade from the standard 18-55mm pentax kit lens. The Sigma produces very sharp images with no chromatic aberration (until you blow-up the pictures to full size on a giant monitor and even then its very faint).
Summary: I got this lens from Amazon. The delivery was prompt and the item arrived in good condition in a protected package. I am using this lens with my Canon T3i. It has been about of week since I got this lens. Overall color reproduction and the picture quality is very good through out the 18 - 200 mm range. I am very satisfied with the performance of this lens. However, you should note that the motor of this lens is a little noisy and at times you may be able to hear this.
