A totally great lens.

Adorama

  • Excerpt: I normally use a standard fixed focal length lens and have several. But this lens changed my thinking. For the bulk of my work this lens will cover it and increases my working speed. The lens is super sharp. The images are far better than a couple of Nikon lenses I have.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction

A Great Replacement to the Kit Lens

lambda100, Abes of Maine
28 December 2011
  • Excerpt: I use the lens for family gatherings, pictures of my child, and general photography. It is a welcome replacement to my canon 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 kit lens. The f/2.8 aperture throughout the zoom range is great for low light use. Photos are sharp, and the autofocus is smooth, quiet, and quick.
  • Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Rugged
  • Cons: Heavy

Now my everyday lens.

ThinkBob, Abes of Maine
6 August 2011
  • Excerpt: For me this lens replaces the Normal Zoom "Kit" lens from Canon. I felt that I was missing out on quality and sharpness with the low cost, plastic mount Canon lens. This Sigma is a big step up in speed and quality.
  • Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus, Rugged, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Heavy
