It takes some getting use to!

Alway Lagging behind., Adorama
19 July 2014
  • Excerpt: I love shooting pictures of insects, birds and flowers. Getting use to being further from my subject has taken some time for me with this Macro. It definitely has it's advantages like not spooking little creatures. The crispness of the pictures/subject taken with this lens are utterly amazing. I use it with my Nikon D80. It is heavy, but the lens is well built, no lens creep like I feel with some of my Nikon lens.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Consistent Sharp Pictures, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Strong Construction

Wonderful lens!

  • Excerpt: I used this lens for a macro photography class. Wow, I can't say enough great things about it. It performs amazingly with the sharpest, clearest close-up pictures I've ever seen. It has a little bit of trouble finding it's focus at times. But the pictures I got from that class were outstanding. It has a very solid construction, if a bit on the heavy side. But then again, I'm used to using my little 40mm f/2.8 macro lens, which doesn't compare in performance.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Heavy

Sharp Telephoto/Macro

TimT, Adorama
13 December 2012
  • Excerpt: This lens is amazingly sharp and offers a level of focus that few zooms can match, even at f2.8. It is an excellent macro that allows for detailed exploration of the small side of things. But because it's a 150mm, you don't need to get as close to use it's macro capabilities. I've also found it to be a great lens for interior shots and low light. Very few telephoto zooms get to 2.8 and even fewer are this sharp.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Image stabilization, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Heavy, Slow Focus

GREAT LENS

Jack G, Adorama
8 November 2011
  • Excerpt: GREAT LENS! Focus is dead on. Lens is sharp. Made of metal. I used it for about 3 weeks and love it every time I use it. Bokeh is smooth at f2.8, but not too pleasant at f5.6 and smaller. Focus is decently fast for sports when you put the limiter on. The only thing that I don't like is the Sigma finish. It can get scratched easily.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Heavy

great macro lens

  • Excerpt: Excellent for macro. Allows 1: 1 life size shots. i use it for wildflowers and love it. Might not be good for sports due to the wide focus range. It might take awhile to focus on action. However, it does have some focus limits that might be helpful.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Heavy

I would buy this Sigma 150mm new lens

Adorama
25 July 2011
  • Excerpt: I have had the lens 4 days, taken over 200 pictures. I've been impressed with the speed of the lens focus. The built-in stabalizer does a good job so you can use higher apatures. I have been doing close-up work on dragonflies, butterflies, etc. Did not buy this lens for sports or action shooting but should work fine because it is fast focus and sharp.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction

A cracker

Reviewalot "enpjaw", Amazon
25 July 2011
  • Summary: I'm sure there may be some variety in lens production now and again, but the copy I got is a cracker. I upgraded from the non-OS version as I find the 150mm is good for portraits too. The new OS version is an improvement in every possible way except for the weight and the price. Its been well thought out - providing a hood for 35mm and another for cropped sensors, the slightly textured rubber coating has been replaced with a smoother feel coating, the addition of OS...

Utmärkt

pallebrun, Prisjakt
18 August 2014
  • Summary: Objektivet är testat med en D610.
