Perfect to keep the DSLR camera in the girl purse.

Joanna, Amazon
25 July 2014
  • Summary: Sooooooooooo much convenience to keep the camera in my purse and be with me any moment I need a great camera to get the picture. Plus the lense itself gives you the wide length to your picture. You will like it so much once you use it. I promise you!

A nice lens for the NX300

Steven B. "BodyCop", Amazon
23 May 2014
  • Summary: A nice, good quality, fast focus acquisition, solid, good field of view lens. The Fn button on the lens is redundant, but nice. If purchased, the 30mm should be a bit flatter as it does not have the Fn button. This lens take a 43mm filter, the OEM 20-50mm lens takes a 40.5mm filter. This can be confusing as my previous experience with several SLR/D-SLR cameras filters have generally been of the same size, except for speciality lenses.

Its a good lens but not any better then the kit lens

Jason E. Maiser "JM", Amazon
5 July 2013
  • Summary: Yes there is lower distortion in this lens then in the kit lens but for most people it not really worth the extra money. If you are a lens snob then you will find it to be a very decent lens.

Must have lens

Carl E. Sims "BGANGA", Amazon
5 July 2013
  • Summary: This is a great lens to cut down on the bulk of the 18-55 kit lens. Images are excellent and the autofocus is quick. Very happy with my purchase.

This lens adds to the NX capabilities

J. Russo "JR", Amazon
5 July 2013
  • Summary: As a beginner photographer I found that this lens works great for indoor low light portrait situations. In many instances it obviates the need for the use of flash. In addition it slims down the camera to the point that it is quite easy and convenient to bring along to indoor family events or where portrait photography is common. Extremely satisfied with quality, easy of use, and value for the money. I recommend it.

Reasonably sharp... when in focus.

Dwegs "Dwegs", Amazon
18 June 2013
  • Summary: I have no idea if this is the fault of the camera (NX300), or the lens. However, I found that when I used it in any of the AF modes, it would not hit focus at the intended point. Without the ability to fine tune these lenses, I found this one to be out of spec IMO. That and the fact that it is only an F2.8 lens make it a 3 - 3.5 star lens to me.

Best 35mm equiv compact on the market

Zef, Adorama
5 February 2013
  • Excerpt: Sharp lens which is a great addition to the Kit lens of any NX system, currently better than any Sony lens and in the higher quality range of the m3/4 lens options. Works good in lowlight thanks to it being in the lower Apeture range (much better than the kit lens). The fixed lens is also good to help you learn how to use a camera without messing around with zooming, ie step forward or backward to get a bigger/smaller image.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh
