T. Schauer "hacker, photographer, designer", Amazon
2 March 2014
Summary: Unfortunately this lens is a deal breaker and because it is weak I will not be growing my NX kit. It is the only longer focal length zoom lens available for NX cameras and its zoom ring is very inconsistent making it ergonomically difficult to zoom to the desired focal length. I did not even measure image quality using the lens because it was so bad for zooming.
Summary: What I thought I had ordered was a 'New' lens. What arrived was a lens wrapped in bubble film and in a white box (even that was too big and allowed the lens to move around) with no instructions, no lens hood and no pouch. Then on inspection the lens was scratched, even though the sticker on the box implied it was new. This left me no choice but to send it back, this part of the process was faultless.
Samsung NX 50-200mm F4-5.6 ED OIS II lens - incorrect edition sent
12 March 2013
Summary: Great lens but... I've received an incorrect model. So be careful because what was being sold (and probably still is) is definitely not edition II of "Samsung NX 50-200mm" lens. It was returned on the same day that I received it.
Summary: I own an NX1000 camera alongside the 16mm, 30mm and 20-50mm lenses. I thought that I would add a long zoom to my collection so ordered the 50-200mm from Amazon. Delivery was fast, and upon opening and inspection the lens certainly looked nice and well built for the price. However, upon mounting it to my camera I was shocked at the poor image quality produced by this lens. Wide open at all focal lengths my 50-200mm was very SOFT.
