Summary: Another very nice and useful lens for the NX if you like a moderate wide angle. Construction is excellent, AF near silent and performances very high (although a notch down from the 30mm). iFn is also nice to use for changing parameters in a seamless way. Small and light also makes it a perfect companion for the street shooter. The NX line will be successful if Samsung continues issuing excellent lenses like this one.
Pros: Good resolution qualities, small and light, iFn button, cheap!
Summary: Although this lens is compact, its performance leaves much to be desired. It's slower and not as sharp as the 30mm. If anything, pictures of the same scenes looked worse than with the 18-55 @ 20mm at the same apertures, and while the 18-55 is bulkier, at least it comes with OIS and better AF. I don't have a 20-50 to compare with, but if you have either of those two kit lenses, I don't really see a compelling reason to get this one.
Summary: This is really excellent in terms of image quality, pairs well with the 30mm. Colours are fairly good and sharpness is excellent, I didn't find anything to complain about in a number of varying situations and apertures. The iFn button, which lets you change settings using the focus ring, is a useful feature if you change the settings a lot. I don't.
Summary: Delivered through Amazon from Camtronics this morning. Everything I expected and more. Read all the reviews of this lens and knew it was what I wanted, especially as I have other cameras using the same size APS-C CMOS sensor with various lenses. This pancake lens is ideal for use in busy environments, being more compact than the standard 20-50 zoom that came with my NX1000 camera. Still doesn't make it simple-compact-camera pocketable though.
Summary: I was lucky enough to be allowed a quick test of all three of Samsung's pancake lenses by a dealer, a few minutes only with each each in turn. I was not allowed to venture far from the shop's windows and thus could only shoot what was available in the immediate vicinity - some rather boring buildings, the images of which are not worth publishing here.
