Excerpt: Got it for my Samsung NX11. What a cute package of camera & lens! More importantly, the lens works pretty well with above-average focus speed. Distortion is as expected for a wide angle lens; CA control is satisfactory in most cases; sharpness level in the middle is good with gradual fall-off to the corners. Overall, a solid everyday performer for Samsung NX cameras!
Summary: Firstly, let me correct one thing about the way this lens is described. There is NO WAY this lens can be decribed as an "ultra wide" lens. It's no such thing. The diagonal of the Samsung NX200 sensor is 28.3mm. The diagonal of a full frame 35mm frame is 43.3mm. The multiplication factor is almost exactly 1.5 - which makes this the equivalent of a 24mm on 35mm. For 35mm a 35mm focal length is a "slightly wide standard" at most.
Summary: At this time, Samsung is the world leader in electronics and that includes cameras. This lens alone sets Samsung in a special place. And with the large view screen to see your shots, it is just awesome.
Summary: Go to lens for my nx300. I used this primarily as my walk around lens regardless is it is prime lens. It is lightweight and small and doesn't add much size unlike the kit 18-55mm lens. It is also sharp with fast autofocus. I don't need bring the kit zoom lens because the 16mm is so sharp, cropping is sufficient. This lens works well even in low light situations. Our house doesn't have proper lighting but I can still fire off some nice pictures with minimal noise.
Good field of view and overall excellent quality - a superb lens!

Summary: OK, so this lens has some mild vignetting, some softness in corners when wide open (but cured by stopping down to f4), and so on. Compared to the 20mm and the 30mm, it is generally the lowest rated overall of the three (though it seems to be moving up the ranks lately). But...it has something they don't -- a very wide field of view!
