If you love bokeh, this is the best and one of the most affordable way of doing it.

Juls of Antelope, Amazon
8 April 2015
  • Summary: If you love bokeh, this lens simply creates a very pleasing milky background behind your subject just as nice as the much more expensive Canon's and Nikon's 85mm wide aperture lenses. Like with competitors': - It's a giant lens.

Wow.

  • Excerpt: Samsung lists it at $, but most retailers have it for $ or less. I picked it up for $. That may sound steep, but compared to offerings from other brands that is quite reasonable. I had Nikon recently and their brand offering is twice this amount and even the after market versions are hundreds more.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction

85mm super sharp lens!

Don the music industry photographer, B&H Photo
21 October 2014
  • Excerpt: Optically, this lens is perfect. I shoot live rock images professionally with a digital SLR as well as my Samsung NX series ILC. For shows where I want to capture a show without the hassle of lugging around a large camera is when the Samsung plays a primary role.
  • Pros: Consistent Output, Easily Interchangeable, Strong Construction
  • Cons: Slow Focus

  • Excerpt: Although this lens is kind of steep on the price, the output of the photos are amazing. Looks very professional, even for starters to photography. This lens is quite heavy, showing that this is a premium made lens. I have the NX 300, and this lens just makes my camera look even more professional.

Another underappreciated lens from Samsung. No image stabilizer.

Shredlock, Amazon
24 July 2014
  • Summary: Pro: Wicked sharp. Just a little smaller than competing 85mm f1.4. Seems well built. Excellent value. Cons: unbalanced with tiny NX camera. Lacking Image Stability feature. This category of lens has just a singular purpose: Portraiture.
