Excerpt: I originally bought the Samsung NX300 with the 20-50 lens, thinking the smaller lens is better but I found that were were times when it just fell short of what I wanted so I finally got the 18-55. Overall, this is NOT a professional-grade camera and, therefore, the lens is not professional grade. However, it does a perfect job as a vacation, all-around shoot-what-you-need on a regular basis type of lens. It's only slightly bigger than the 20-50 and still very light.
Excerpt: Samsung cameras rely on their lenses for image stabilization. I like the pancake and other prime lenses, but without any image stabilization, it makes shooting without a tripod significantly more difficult. This lens is one of the few stabilizied OIS lenses, and at 18-55mm, it is probably the one you will be using the most. before I got this lens I was using the 50-200 all the time, but it wasn't versatile enough, and had more zoom than I usually needed.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
Excerpt: Bought this to replace the 20-50mm lens that came with kit. Kit lens has no OIS. I'm not sure if this lens has better optics, or the fact that it has OIS, but photos are markedly better. Very fast auto-focus also. Also purchased the HOYA CIR-PL UV filter for this and even though I thought it was a bit expensive(for me), I wouldn't want to shoot outdoors without it.
Pros: Consistent Output, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus
Excerpt: I just got this for my NX100, which came with the also very good 20-50mm lens. However, the 20-50mm does not have IS built in, so I've had some issues with sharp results at lower shutter speeds. This new 18-55mm with IS has helped me a few times already, and I don't see any loss in image quality between it and the original 20-50mm. The 18-55mm also comes with a reversible lens hood, which the 20-50mm does not have.
Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
Excerpt: This lens is pretty much a must have for the samsung nx camera line. The optical image stabilization is a great feature, and it is an internal focus lens wich makes it a quieter, and much stronger lens than the stock 20-50 lens that came with my nx1000. All around one of my favorite overall lenses to use.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Rugged, Strong Construction
Excerpt: This Lens is a replacement of an unfortunate accident. Is a nice kit lens useful for portrait, landscape. Is a good companion for the NX20 when you want to travel without many accessories, big bags and other lenses
Pros: Consistent Output, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Sharp images
Summary: The 20-50mm non-OIS lens which comes with the NX100 is much much useless indoor if you are not using a flash. I wish they would include this lens with the NX100 instead. I like the NX100 more now since I acquires this lens. I can shoot indoor picture using available light now; something I wasn't able to do before with the old lens. Highly recommended!
Excerpt: I use this lens for everthing that do not need a big zoom. This lens is capable doing everything, from macro to portrait pass by landscape. The images are clean and beautiful. Seriously, i love this lens.
Pros: Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
