Summary: Back with my stock NX lens, I had to brace myself for every shot (and night shots were out of the question). I'm a guy who often carries heavy stuff, so steady hands aren't my forte, BUT these solve the job perfectly. To top it all, it even came with a lens hood, saving me $10 off from ebay!
Summary: So I really cannot comment on the actual product because I used this lens for five years now. While on E trip, my camera bag fell and get the angle of the full keep the lens just at the spot weird it broke off of the body. So I needed a replacement and I chose the particular vendor based on price.
Summary: The lens is great! I am very happy, though it is important to note that the product I received that was sold by a different company but fulfilled by Amazon is a White Box. White box products are good, but it is a gray market product. Gray market products may or many not have warranties in the US and are typically either part of a camera kit that was split apart or it is intended for another market other than the US.
Summary: The Samsung EX-51855 lens is a great upgrade to the Samsung 20 - 50 mm lens which comes with the NX2000 compact system camera. It achieves a much quicker and sharper focus than the 20 - 50 mm lens with no compromises on the image quality. The lens also comes with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) which works great even in low light situation. The lens also has the same length in the retracted position which is great for storing in my existing camera case.
Summary: While I almost wrote "great kit lens" I pulled back. It was not a kit lens for me. I got the 20-50 with my NX300. The 20-50 is a great lens optically but with its rotating front element and noisy focus it just seems like some corners were cut. You cannot fault the 20-50 performance. I messed up a bunch of photos with motion blur and while I had read that the 20-50 was superior optically to the 18-55 I thought that the OIS would be helpful to me .
Excerpt: I bought the Samsung NX1000, and wanted to replace the 20-50 kit lens that came with it. This 18-55 mm optically stabilized lens gives me the ability to use manual focus and control the camera settings from the lens itself, neither function available with the kit lens, and is very reasonably priced. My only small regret is that it is a f/3.5-5.6 rather than starting lower (but that would make it much more expensive).
Pros: Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
Excerpt: This Lens is a replacement of an unfortunate accident. Is a nice kit lens useful for portrait, landscape. Is a good companion for the NX20 when you want to travel without many accessories, big bags and other lenses
Pros: Consistent Output, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Sharp images
Excerpt: As a newbie to photography I purchased a Samsung NX1000 to replace my cheap point and shoot. The lens it came with was a low-end basic unit which lacked any stabilization which was a bit of a problem for me as I don't carry around a tripod. I bought this as a cheap replacement lense as it has very similar specs to the lese that came with the camera but also has the IOS image stabilizer and manual focus mode(which other lens did not have either).
Pros: Consistent Output, Easily Interchangeable, Easy to use
Summary: The 20-50mm non-OIS lens which comes with the NX100 is much much useless indoor if you are not using a flash. I wish they would include this lens with the NX100 instead. I like the NX100 more now since I acquires this lens. I can shoot indoor picture using available light now; something I wasn't able to do before with the old lens. Highly recommended!
