Excerpt: I decided I wanted an all around lens for Vacations and general travel. Many reviews said this lens lost sharpness due to the range and that the 50-200mm lens took better pictures. I am not a professional so I purcahsed the lens as an all around lens. Yes I knew it was considerably more than two lenses, yes I knew it was heavy and big, yes I knew picture quality wasn't up to the sensor capabilities on my NX300 but I didn't want to carry multiple lenses and swap them at...
Excerpt: I purchased this lens to have an "all around" lens for my NX200. I just got back from Airventure and took about 400 pictures while i was there. After downloading these into my computer I was very impressed with the pictures. From close ups in low light to aerial shots in daylight to movies all were very good.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Strong Construction
Samsung 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 ED OIS NX review by arconovum
20 March 2012
Summary: I was very disappointed in this lens , not in the optics but in the mechanics. When OIS was enabled a high pitched tone was emitted from the lens in the 10,000 - 11,000 hz (hertz) range, at about 10 dB(decibels), it was very audible and also could be recorded on the cameras microphones , in this case a samsung nx200. Further testing on other lenses (of the same) at the store revealed the same defect.
Pros: decent optics
Cons: defective mechanics, poor battery life, terrible warranty from samsung
Samsung 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 ED OIS NX review by Claude Clay

Summary: at the extremes the image begins to degrade. some may not notice; subtle differences showed up against my older MD ROKKOR X Minolta lens mounted to the NX100. still lots more testing to do but its a keeper.
Excerpt: I have NX10 with the standard lens and 50-200. Both lenses are noisy for video. 50-200 is very sharp and fast. Because this system is for traveling it is more convenient to have the lens which replaces both former ones. I was very glad to find that the lens is made in Japan like all my high end Nikon lenses. It is heavier than my other Samsung lenses, but way more convenient. Upon update of the firmware the camera responds to i function button which this lens has.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
