Good Quality, Low Price

Bonnie von Prondzinski, Amazon
18 February 2014
  • Summary: My husband is very happy with this lens. I bought it for him for Christmas. He didn't get a chance to try it out until this past weekend, at a miniature train show. This lens is priced much cheaper than a similar Canon lens that is available for his camera, yet the quality is every bit as good. The lens arrived in due time and was well packaged.

An inexpensive alternative to get wide angle and NOT fisheye

lanukip, Ebay
8 March 2013
  • Summary: An inexpensive alternative to get wide angle and NOT fisheye. it is heavy but it is removable so you dont have to keep it on all the time. One piece of advice, the barrel may be seen at the wide end of your camera so get the LARGEST 58 mm filter size and use a stepdown ring to achieve less barrel, but sometimes it does add a nice "tube" effect to your images & video. very good quality construction, probably a couple of good elements.

Rear element projects too far

Baixo, B&H Photo
26 December 2012
  • Excerpt: This lens is pretty highly rated for a converter, but I never really got a chance to use it, as the rear element projects so far that I would have needed a spacer ring to prevent it from hitting the front element of my Olympus 14-42mm zoom or the UV filter I usually keep on.
  • Cons: Does Not Fit All Lenses

Compact, works well with Canon G9

Lucas, Adorama
23 April 2012
  • Excerpt: This adds a nice wider range to the Canon G9 when mounted on a Lensmate or similar adaptor. It makes for some interesting perspectives otherwise impossible, and works best with some part of the composition close to the lens. Easy to put on using the bayonet mount. Some vignetting at the widest setting, but good image quality in a form factor that doesn't dwarf the G9. If you need a flash, you will have to use an external flash like the 220EX or larger.
  • Pros: Compact Design, Easy To Use
  • Cons: Blocks built-in flash, expensive

Great lens for the proce

mjfalvey, B&H Photo
16 December 2011
  • Excerpt: I bought this lens for my Canon HF S20 and 21 cameras since they do not have much of a wide viewing angle when working in tight quarters. I have only had this lens for two weeks but found it very useful. I mounted this lens on one of my cameras for floor shots to video my daughter's college dance team to get a second viewing perspective. I was extremely happy with the added viewing angle, amount of light the lens allows in and clarity of video.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Good Interface With Camcorder, Great price and quality, Improves Performance, Quality Construction

Great lens! Quality is Absolutely Superb

greenflash00, B&H Photo
20 July 2011
  • Excerpt: I bought this lens for my Canon Vixia HF S200 to shoot indoors with and it really does the job. I can see little to no distortion on the edges and it gives a great image quality. Lens is nice and heavy so you can tell it's very well made. The middle ring has a nice ribbed rubber grip that helps in screwing it on or off to the camera as well. I have found this to be a cheaper alternative to Canon's WD-H58, and every bit as good. Get it, you won't regret it!

No distortion

ChrisMN, B&H Photo
14 March 2011
  • Excerpt: The converter lens is lightweight and shows not geometric distortion. The only issue is when the camera is zoomed in more than 50%. In this case it shows light flaring and has soft focus. It's not designed for this anyway so you shouldn't expect any issues. I used it on my old Sony PD-150. Screwed right onto the 58mm thread.

Great for the price

Chris, B&H Photo
3 January 2011
  • Excerpt: I bought this for my new Canon Vixia HFS200. Since this is a mid-priced camcorder, I didn't want to spend the bigger money for a Canon or Century, and I thought I'd give this a try. [...]Quality of build seems great. Screwed right in to my 58 mm mount. Image is great, with no vignetting. Takes my Canon to about 26 mm wide (35mm equivalent), which is just short of fisheye, so you get just a touch of distortion, esp when panning.
