Summary: I take a lot of pictures of my kids playing sports, so I really needed a longer lens. I love being able to get so much closer. The first shot I took with the lens was of a cardinal way up in a tree and it made a really nice picture. I used it on a recent school trip to Gettysburg and was able to get some great battle field shots that would have been impossible with my 18-55mm lens.
Summary: I bought this lens to complement my 18-135 recognizing that it gives quite a lot of cross-over which means you can leave the 18-135 at home if the subjects you are photographing are such that you don't need anything less than the equivalent of around 80mm in 35mm format. It is fast focusing, but in some situations this may require manual intervention which is very easy on this lens. Image quality is excellent. Build quality is good with a metal mount.
Solid, reliable, well made. This is a 'working' lens.

Summary: an excellent piece of photographic equipment for the intermediate level. The unit is a light weight and compact version of the often difficult to manage older models. There is precision in usage and as well as results. Yes, you could buy a 1.4 for extreme clarity, but you, like me are probably not a professional, or alluding to be one. Experts might detect a difference between a $3,500 lens and this one.
It is amazing and very useful lens for great price.

Summary: This lens is great. It is for sport, nature and portraits the best option for your Pentax camera. Next step is only expensive lens (150-400/500), where the quality is almost the same, but of course you are little bit closer. And being closer means that you will always want bigger lens or you might make more steps to your object.
Summary: I have yet one zoom 18-55 mm. This one complete my average with the same high quality. Image very sharp, speed focusing and change of focal. I have yet another lens 28-200, but not so sharp in all focal. I am very satisfied.
