Excerpt: I use this fantastic lens with Sony A7RII with Pentax K to Sony FE adapter. I did compare with Sony FE "native" lenses such as Sony/Zeiss FE 35mm f2.8. Pentax 31mm f1.8 is much better. Ideal focus lange for travels and landscapes.Fantastic contrast, color rendering and excellence resolution.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
Summary: This lens has delivered everything I had anticipated!!! My CaNikon friends asked me why I bought this lens when I already had a 100mm Macro WR lens (they also smirked about the odd 77mm focal length). Well, it's just a better lens for portraits.
Excerpt: The FA 77 is a fine short telephoto I have found useful for landscapes, wildlife and portraits. There is a magical quality to the light captured by this lens and the contrast and colors are the most vivid of my Three Amigos (FA31, FA43 and FA77).
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
Summary: This is a sharp lens and just like week Pentax Forum named Best of All Lenses. How well does it live to its expectations? Really well, unless you own a K-3 that it, in which case it's good, just not THAT good. On the K-5 family, it's a little soft wide open, like most such lenses.
Summary: It's worth keeping a Pentax body, even if you're invested in another system, just to use this lens. I love this lens with Portra and the Pentax MX as well as with the Pentax DSLR. It is satisfyingly sharp wide open with beautiful color and contrast. Out of focus areas are buttery soft.
The MUST HAVE portrait lens for the Pentax system ... or for people with Pentax adapters.

Summary: There are few lenses that can render images so well that people buy cameras just to use that lens or buy adapters to use that lens on other cameras ... the Pentax FA 77mm f/1.8 is one of those lenses.
