Excerpt: As others say, it is slightly heavy, but it does not bother me. At f4, it is very good, but it gets much better at 5.6. Since it is an internal focus lens, at closer distances it is shorter than what you think, depending on the distance. Mine does not back/front focus at all, which is great.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
Summary: I have had this lens for about a month now. This is a versatile lens, covering a wide range and well. It is well constructed and rated AW (All Weather as opposed to merely WR). If you are reasonably strong and steady, you can hand hold it with amazing results.
Excerpt: Used mostly so far indoors in low light. Easily sharper than the 55-300 with an extra stop at the long end. I wasn't prepared for the improvement in low light focus on my K-5; very few misses @ iso 3200-6400 wide open at 1/20th. It is a heavy lens compared to its cheaper brethern.
Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Rugged
Summary: I loved my 50-135 f2.8 Pentax for my K-5 Pentax camera. It really grabs a good image amazingly easily. So I thought I needed a bigger zoom, read the positive reviews and ordered a ("like new") 60-250. For several months I have been disappointed with the results from this lens.
Excerpt: I've used this lens now for about 1200 shots of lacrosse games taken in the evening/night under the lights, bright sun and cloudy days. Great resolution when the focus is spot on. Tracks well on moving subjects.
Excerpt: I bought this lens for replacing my 55-300mm pentax lens because I wanted to have a more faster and sharp lens. So far I am happy with this lens. My biggest concen was the focal length, it is 50mm shorter than the previous telephoto zoom.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
