Excerpt: Pros: Sharp, even wide open. Nice color / contrast. Fast auto focus. Quick shift focusing is a nice feature. Even sharpness across the frame. 9 aperture blades and rounded bokeh balls are a plus. Very compact and light weight and yet is nicely built metal. Like the metal lens hood that is included. Cons: 40mm (~60mm equivalent) on APS-C not the most useful focal length. Close focus distance is a bit further than i'd like.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Sharp, Strong Construction
Summary: My favorite lens for my K20D. It gets amazing bokeh, great sharpness even when the aperture is wide open. I use it for everything. Great portrait lens. Also the seller I bought it from was great, especially considering I bought it used, which always seems like a risky purchase. Not one issue with the lens at all.
The Pentax DA 40mm f2.8 lens produces beautiful colors that have depth.

Summary: I have owned the DA 40mm f2.8 lens for about a year. I also own the Pentax DA 35mm f2.4 lens. My current camera is the Pentax K-5 iis. My first camera was the Pentax KR with the kit lens. Since I have received the DA 40mm f2.8 lens, I have not used the kit lens once. I feel a prime lens such as the DA 40mm f2.8 lens produces pictures that are so much more sharp and professional looking.
Excerpt: I wasn't expecting much more than a compact lens, but this Limited lens produces great color, resolution, and across-the-frame clarity. And it is tiny--with a built-in lens cover. The cover protects the lens, though I have yet to notice the results of no UV filter. I had purchased the highly-rated 35 Limited lens not long ago--this lens rivals that one minus the macro capability.
Pros: Compact, Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
Summary: This is my first prime lens. Very light weight, easy to put on and off. Does not even look/feel like there is any lens on camera when this one is on. Good walk around lens. I used it for street photography, full body portraits and landscape photography. It has least CA or flare of all lenses I have used. Reproduces excellent colors. Beyond excellent sharpness. It is simply the best lens in my kit. You got to have one of these and it goes with Canon.
Summary: I spent a lot of time researching what lens I wanted to add to my Pentax collection. I finally settled in on the DA 40. It's an incredibly sharp lens. I'm a professional photographer that has used a lot of different lenses over the years and this is one that won't disappoint. The only draw back is the f/2.8 is a little slower than I wanted, but at least it's super sharp even at f/2.8.
Excerpt: Very nice lens in all respects. It's so tiny so i can keep it almost everytime in my bag/pocket. Picture is good enough. I rate this lens with 4 start, because i think FA Limiteds own 5 stars owners (FA 31,43,77) BTW, the screw in cap doesn't annoying at all, it just makes carrying more confident
Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Limited Quality, Nice Bokeh, Size, Strong Construction
