A great learning lens

Summary: These older "prime lenses" are pretty cheap used and work fine on new Pentax DSLR cameras. They offer the professional look of a shallow depth of field, attractive bokeh, and the clarity that a simpler lens offers over the zoom stuff. In addition to that - it captures more light thanks to a f2.0. That means more detail and less noise in lower light. it's my first prime lens but it's easy to use. Just set your f stop and focus manually.
Summary: Best protrait lens after the 50mmf1.4. I use manual in my portrait sessions, so I do not care for the autofocus version. I can control this one. This is underrates lens because it is only half step below the f1.7. You can save lot of mony buying this prime lens. I recommend it.
Pentax 50mm f/2.8 Macro SMC P-D FA review by elho_cid

Summary: Very versatile lens, useful not just for macro, but also portraits, landscapes, etc. The sharpness and contrast is terrific even when combined with teleconverter, tube, or dioptric attachment lens. This gives so much more combinations and possibilities. I do not like the extending plastic barrel, but otherwise the design is good, making the lens very enjoyable to use. Highly recommended (if you treat your lenses well).
Summary: Fits perfectly to my Pentax K100D Super, very nice to allow me to do all the manual adjustments and record digitally, delete the ones that don't work out. Nice compact lens, very bright images, depth of field is short so that allows nice crisp portraits with soft background and foreground.
Summary: I bought used in very good condition with no marks on body and glass. Very hard to find. Only few can be seen on Ebay per year. Metal body, heavy but feels solid and comfortable on camera body. Fast and close focusing, good for close-ups. Manual focusing ring is a little bit loose. Some purple fringing can be seen when opened. Have not seen any vignetting nor distortion. Corners are very good. In my opinion very good piece of glass.
