Excerpt: I haven't used a 50mm since I owned a Ricoh back in High School. Sharp, fast, awesome in low light, excellent macro and light weight. I'm coming from a Sigma 17-70mm on a Canon 50D.I switched to a Pentax K-5II's a month ago because I wanted something lighter to carry around. Extremely happy with my decision to switch brands.
Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Low Light, Nice Bokeh
Excerpt: Images are razor sharp. Focus operation is fast and dead accurate. Macro is marvelous, especially set to manual focus, able to get as close to only 1.5" away from the tip of the lens, producing crystal clear images.
Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
) Most photographers (including me) rely pretty heavily on zoom lenses for ordinary subjects

Summary: If you're looking for a medium-focal-length aspherical (flat-field) macro lens, get one of these while you can; it appears that Pentax is phasing it out. This lens must be one of the best-kept secrets of the Pentax line: it is in the low-to-middle segment of their price range, but is similar in quality (optically speaking) to some of their higher-priced lenses, and to similar Pentax-mount macro lenses made by other manufacturers (Sigma, Tamron.
Excerpt: I put this on my new K-3 a couple of weeks ago, and have not taken it off. It is a nice all around lens. The auto focus has been spot on, and the manual focus is smooth and precise. Excellent images.
Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Nice Bokeh, Strong Construction
Excerpt: This lens is perfect for my wife. She is short and the focusing distance is down to 4 inches. Experimenting with amcro shots of bugs, spiders, webs, portraits, and anything one can think of produces magnificient shots! Definitely a valuable lens to have in one's bag.
Pros: Consistent Output, Durable, Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight, Rugged, Strong Construction
Excerpt: I've been using this lense for two weeks now and has no regret of buying it. It's a sharp lense producing great photos. The macro capability is an icing on the cake. Very well built for its price.
Pros: Consistent Output, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Nice Bokeh, Sharp, Well built
