Love it

  • Summary: It fits my pentax q very well. It is very light and easy to set up. I used to just have the 01 lens, and 02 is much useful than that one.

A great basic wide.

  • Excerpt: The Pentax Q; for such a small format system, it's amazing how great the quality is in its bread and butter lenses 01,02, and 06. The 02 is very well constructed and the glass quality is superb. 27mm wide fine for my purposes so I have yet to try the new ultra wide 08 lens. Its nice to have a 2.8 aperture at its widest but seems to really do well at 3.2 to 4.5. I love shooting at night with both it and the 01 prime depending on subject and have gotten great results.
  • Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Reliable

good lens, good focal range

vagrant10 "mh", Amazon

  • Summary: I've had really good luck image quality wise w/ my 02 zoom lens. I'm posting some samples - I will not hesitate to use this lens as the picture quality is great and it focuses fast. I'd offer to share some photos that I've taken w/ the 02 to help demonstrate it's quality but I am unable to do so - maybe because Amazon is not the seller and it's only available through third parties?

Damaged product

9 July 2013
  • Summary: The lens came without packaging and no warranty. I tried the zoom but the autofocus did not appear to work. The lens appeared to make a strange noise when powering on the unit. focusing also appeared to be an issue. The seller advised me contact the manufacturer for repairs!!!

  • Summary: The more I used the more it grew on me. Love the versatility of this lens. At an aperture f2.8 at it's widest I can shoot low light.

Should have been the original kit lens.

Mempi, B&H Photo
29 December 2012
  • Excerpt: The 5-15mm lens is average in all ways, it acts like a typical kit lens. The good news is the variable focal length is good and allows for framing the shot. I could say that this is the only lens that is zoom'able. But I see they just added the 15-45mm lens to the franchise. The only odd thing about the lens is that when it is fully retracted it is 15mm. To get to 5mm the lens extends out. That is not good or bad, but definately different.

Beautifully built, but not an essential purchase for Q owners

Nathan D Jedinak, Amazon
1 August 2012
  • Summary: The first thing you notice when you handle the Q Zoom is the quality--this is one of the smoothest zoom lenses I've ever used, regardless of price. Although the manual focus ring is a little less of a quality feel, being light plastic and prone to scratching, much of the res of the lens is metal or heavily built, and the zoom action is very well damped giving a very luxurious feel.
