Excerpt: Optical is just as good as the 12-35 brother. However I am not as satisfied as with the 12-35 lens. The main reason is the OIS. When handheld, it produce some weird vibration in the footage. It does not look pleasing in video. I first thought I got a bad copy. But after tried second copy, it produce same effect. Kind disappointed of the OIS. It has no impact on photo side. But for video, it is definitely a drawback. The 12-35 has better OIS.
Excerpt: To have a 70-200 f/2.8 equivalent lens that's so small is amazing. Image quality is also very good, although the limits of the 4/3rds sensor does affect the depth of field so it's not likely shooting on a full frame.
Pros: Easily Interchangeable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Lightweight
Summary: Very very nice lens. I use it for video and occasional stills. I like the fact that focusing is done using internal elements. Unlike a full frame cameras which I shot in the past, 2.8 is not wide enough for MFT to achieve cinematic bokeh, so a fast prime is indispensable.
Summary: Purchased used on Amazon, but the lens looked and worked like new. A little pricey for a Micro 4/3rds lens, but the images are very sharp, especially stopped down to f/4. The ability to shoot wide-open @ f/2.8 from 35-100mm (70-200mm FF) is a real benefit for wildlife and outdoor use.
Summary: i love this lens, both for its physical size and weight and for its super image quality. It may not be up to the amazing quality of the olympus pro lens but its pretty close . Since Olympus has yet to have a delivery date on there lens i was forced to make the decision to buy the Lumix lens and im glad i did.
Excerpt: With f/2.8, this lens is an excellent choice for low-level light and expands the range of light conditions for use with this versatile camera. This lens also bridges tht gap between lower focal length lenses and the versatile 100-300 mm lens with its equivalent focal length of 200-600 mm. Great choice as an excellent lens, but rather pricy.
Excerpt: I'm primarily a videographer and I use this lens a lot on concerts, weddings, interviews, and commercial work. It's fast and sharp wide open with nice bokeh. I love the range with the 2x crop factor on my camera (it's an effective 70-200mm lens) The constant aperture is a treat. The construction feels solid. The OIS makes it easy to get sharp, in-focus shots on the go. The sharpness and color on this lens is great. I love the images it makes.
